This secluded enclosed garden is lovingly maintained and makes a wonderful place to spend time with family or friends on those sunny days in the Lake District.

Description

Millside Cottage is situated in a quiet location, close to the centre of the village and a short distance from the village shop. There are two allocated parking places at the front of the property. The cottage has full gas central heating, double glazing and is lovingly maintained with wonderful views of the fells. It is charming and well equipped offering very comfortable accommodation for any time of year.

The entrance porch opens into a spacious, well decorated, lounge with a beamed ceiling, a living flame gas fire which has a remote control, and a leather suite, along with Smart TV, Bluetooth + CD Hi-Fi.

From the lounge you enter the fully fitted kitchen diner with built in appliances, including oven, 5 ringed ceramic touch control hob, microwave, washer dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso Magimix coffee machine with some complimentary pods. There is a dining area with table and four chairs with views out to the secluded garden.

From the kitchen there is a small sun room with comfortable wicker chairs and table, ideal for afternoon tea and reading. This leads to the well kept enclosed garden which is ideal for families and those sunny days in the Lake District. It has a paved area with table and chairs, many different flowering shrubs and views out towards the fells.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one bedroom with bespoke king size bed and one twin with two singles, both with built in wardrobes.

The large bathroom has both a bath and a shower cubicle, and a wash hand basin (the view of Barrow Fell from the bath after a day on the fells is definitely recommended). There is a separate WC next to the bathroom. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided per person.

very comfortable and always clean and tidy.
Have been staying at Millside Cottage for the last ten or more years and now regard it home from home. Having parking is a bonus. Braithwaite is in an ideal position for visiting other parts of the lakes or for many walks.

Cosy, Comfy, dog friendly, perfect cottage
Perfectly located in the village, just a few steps from the local shop and less than 5 minute walk to 2 excellent pubs serving excellent meals. The cottage benefits from parking to the front, and a secure small garden to the rear with outstanding views of Latrigg, Skiddaw range, Blencathra and Barrow and has a small table and chairs. Kitchen is very well equipped and spacious and the lounge is quite large but cosy and warm, the gas fire makes for an even cosier feel. Plenty of storage downstairs. Stairs are slightly steep but lead to a long landing and 2 bedrooms, bathroom and seperate toilet, all rooms upstairs have stunning views. The king size bed is so comfortable and the pillows are amazing and help you drift away to sleep. Again, cupboard space is excellent upstairs. Only slight downside is the water pressure in the shower cubicle, not great but manageable, you could also use the shower attachment over the bath if needed. The cottage has a tablet that welcomes you in and holds all of the appliance operating manuals plus other useful information, a really clever touch. Keswick Cottages were brilliant throughout, excellent communication, care and attention given, our first time using this company but will use again. Highly recommend the Royal Oak and Coledale Inn for dining and a walk to force crag mine is ideal for views and a good wide flat route. Did not want to leave this little gem of a cottage and would love to come back.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are so happy you found Millside Cottage to be located in a perfect position in the village of Braithwaite and the car parking space is a great feature of the cottage. The rear garden is a great feature too with the outdoor furniture meaning you can enjoy al fresco fining in the warmer weather. We are so glad you found the kitchen well equipped and that the lounge was spacious and cosy. Millside Cottage benefits from amazing views of the surrounding fells. We're pleased you found the addition of the tablet a clever touch, we think its a great feature to have in our cottages. Thank you so much for your kind comments about our customer service, we always want our guests to have an easy booking experience with us. We would love to welcome you back when you next visit! We hope you had a wonderful time! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Superb village location with parking, shop just a few steps away as are 2 excellent pubs, park up and walk. Views are breathtaking. Very cosy, warm and exceptionally clean. Lovely to have a living flame gas fire for that homely feel, very well eqipped throughout, lovely secluded dog safe garden. Beds and pillows are the comfiest ever, lots of storeage space which is a bonus. Only slight downside is that the shower pressure is not great but you just have to stay in the shower longer! Love the modern tablet that welcomes guests and gives lots of useful information including how to use every appliance in the cottage. Plenty of room for 2 adults and children with 1 king size bedroom and a twin, 4 adults would also have plenty of room.Benefits from a shower cubicle and a deep bath. Stairs are steep so not good for anyone with mobility difficulties. Perfect though in every way.
Very comfy cottage. Warm and clean. Everything you need. Bedroom a bit small for king size bed but very comfy mattresses. Nice little garden. Enclosed but had to be watchful for our GWP (hunter instinct!). Handy shop with little cafe. Lots of walks from door. Car parking in front of the door. Builder's vans opposite as renovation work going on but not a problem for our one car. Friendly pub nearby. Can't fault it.
The cottage is clean, warm and very comfortable (good quality mattresses on all the beds) with plenty of hot water (great views from the bath, the only downside was the feeble electric shower in the separate cubicle which seems to be a common denominator in lots of Lakes rentals) and great views from the back of the house. It’s in a fantastic village 5 minutes drive from Keswick, with 2 good pubs, 2 tearooms and 2 restaurants. It’s 4 doors up from the village shop, which is handy. Lots of great walking from the door, high and low level, with a paddling stream accessible at the other side of the small caravan park in the village. There’s no off lead dog walks locally as the surrounding fields are all grazed, you have to head into Keswick, Dodd Woods or Whinlatter for that, but tons of on-lead from the door. It’s not the poshest or the most up to date, but everything you need is provided. There’s parking directly in front of the cottage too (fits 1 large and 1 small car). Keswick Cottages are a small, local company who I found helpful and personable. They are also much better value than all of the multi national rental sites, like for like. As a family, we’d definitely stay in Millside cottage again.
