Description

Entering the cottage from the porch, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a charming sociable living space for unwinding after a day of adventures. There is a leather sofa and armchair to curl up on in front of the cosy log-burning stove while you enjoy your favourite series on the Smart TV or a good book.

The brand new kitchen overlooks the pretty garden and comes fully equipped with fridge, induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. On warmer days why not open up the french doors for an al fresco drink and nibble – or even just a serene moment observing the comings and goings of the resident birds and wildlife. At the back of the garage there is a useful utility space with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Moving upstairs there are two beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with king size bed, double windows and plenty of storage space, and the twin bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Both bedrooms have quality beds and mattresses, made up with crisp white bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a mirror with lighting, WC hand wash basin and beautiful bath with shower over, ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles,

There is an electric vehicle charging point next to the private allocated covered car parking space (please note the charging point is shared with Spa Cottage next door)

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to walking routes, or why not bring your bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area with pedal power. There is a lockable shed at the back of the garden for storage.

It would be easy to park up and enjoy a jam-packed car-free holiday. Braithwaite amenities include three lovely pubs serving food and local ales, village shop and a tea room. Theres nearby Whinlatter Forest along with a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities to choose from, a nearby bus stop with routes taking you all over the Lake District, and Keswick town centre only minutes away.

Another fabulous stay at Glen Cottage
This was our second holiday in this lovely cottage. It is in a great location with the village shop and tearoom across the road and 2 pubs very close by. The cottage is very well equipped and renovated to a high standard. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather and it was lovely to have breakfast in the beautiful garden and relax in it after long walks. We can't wait to return in the future

Very comfortable property in a good location.
We had organised a long weekend break including my son with his dog. Fortunately the weather was good which enhanced the visit and contributed to a very enjoyable stay. The property was ideal providing good accommodation in a very central location in the village with good access to the shop and the local hostelries. The property itself was well equipped with all the amenities and was very comfortable. Overall we were pleased with the accommodation. However by way of feedback which we trust will be taken in the right spirit: * one toilet roll per bathroom is inadequate and seems a bit mean minded. * the cleaning materials left are also inadequate and whilst we have no problem with keeping the place clean/tidy but having dogs it would have been easier if more equipment was available. * a stair gate would have been welcome. Having two dogs we had to create a barrier to prevent them from coming upstairs during the night. We would have preferred to pay extra for the accommodation rather than have regular add ons. The above didn't distract from the holiday.

There are some fantastic local walks, activities and amenities from the doorstep. We do always supply some welcome provisions as standard with the aim to make things easier on guest arrival such as a kitchen pack, refreshment pack and toilet rolls. We did trial enhanced provisions, however we found that not everyone actually needed the items and it became quite wasteful where we try to operate as eco-friendly as possible. So we felt it would be better to keep rental prices lower and then customers could simply book on any items that they actually want and will use during their holiday. Great cottage, great location
Lovely well kitted cottage within easy reach of Keswick and surrounding area right in the heart of the Lake District. Cottage located near lovely village shop and two pubs serving great food. Easy access into the hills and local walks from the doorstep. Would highly recommend and stay again. Communication and information provided by Keswick Cottages was excellent - would definitely use them again.

Fabulous cottage. Well appointed, super clean, everything you need. Well thought out for comfort and style. Great secure garden for the dogs. Lovely shower, comfy bed, great smart tv. Couldn’t ask for more and reasonably priced. Had a great stay, will be back!
