Millside Cottage is situated in a quiet location, close to the centre of the village and a short distance from the village shop. There are two allocated parking places at the front of the property. The cottage has full gas central heating, double glazing and is lovingly maintained with wonderful views of the fells. It is charming and well equipped offering very comfortable accommodation for any time of year. The entrance porch opens into a spacious, well decorated, lounge with a beamed ceiling, a living flame gas fire which has a remote control, and a leather suite, along with TV,  DVD, CD with a mp3 and ipod docking station, and also a good selection of films, programmes and music. From the lounge you enter the fully fitted kitchen diner with built in appliances, including oven, 5 ringed ceramic touch control hob, microwave, washer dryer, fridge and freezer and dishwasher. There is a dining area with table and four chairs with views out to the secluded garden. From the kitchen there is a small sun room with comfortable wicker chairs and table, ideal for afternoon tea and reading. This leads to the well kept enclosed garden which is ideal for families and those sunny days in the Lake District. It has a paved area with table and chairs, many different flowering shrubs and views out towards the fells. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one bedroom with bespoke king size bed and one twin with two singles, both with built in wardrobes.  The large bathroom has both a bath and a shower cubicle, and a wash hand basin (the view of Barrow Fell from the bath after a day on the fells is definitely recommended). There is a separate WC next to the bathroom.  One bath towel and one hand towel are provided per person. Reduced Occupancy is available at Millside Cottage from November to March (excluding school holidays). Prices are reduced to reflect the number of bedrooms used. Rooms not booked will be locked. Standard 1 bedroom booking (double bedroom & main bathroom).  If this room configuration is not what your require please contact the office either by phone or email with your room choices.

Lovely cosy cottage, has everything you need, we would definitely recommend and are planning to return soon.
Julie from WELLINGBOROUGH 16th November 2018
Easy access to the hills around. Very well-equipped cottage in the centre of the village of Braithwaite. The cottage was ideal for the three of us. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back.
V Oldham from Aberdeen 16th October 2017
The cottage is well situated and only a couple of minutes walk from the well stocked village shop. There are 4 eating venues in this small village so all needs can be catered for. At least 2 of them allow your dog to be present whilst you eat your meal. I particularly enjoy this cottage because it has a small private back garden which is ideal for our dogs. The interior is of reasonable size and is always up to a good standard of decor.A good bus service is available and there are plenty of walks from the doorstep. We have stayed here at least 6 times.
Jade from Cheshire 1st October 2017
Millside Cottage is a very clean comfortable property with everything you need for your stay. The location is beautiful and within short distance of Keswick. The village shop is well stocked with the basics, home made cakes and sandwiches are made up to order. there are plenty of places locally to eat out. We would highly recommend this property to our family and friends. Keswick cottages made booking this property very easy and their website very informative.
Sue Hancock from Aberford, Leeds 29th September 2017
Stayed here for a week in July, 2 adults 2 kids and 1 dog, great cottage right in the centre of Braithwaite, it was surprisingly spacious inside with every amenity you could wish for. Two lovely pubs within walking distance and fantastic woodland walks in Whinlatter forest which is very close. Would definitely recommend.
Janet from Sunderland 18th July 2017
Back again at this beautiful cottage. Couldn't fault it, there is everything you need for your stay. If only the weather was a good as the cottage. This cottage is situated in the beautiful village of Braithwaite which has a nice village shop which stocks most of the essentials that you need. There are also a couple of nice pubs close by. We will definitely be back.
Mick from Doncaster 30th June 2017
Always a pleasure to stay at Millside Cottage, this is our third year, speaks for itself. Cannot think of a negative, everything was great especially the lovely gas living flame fire, just the ticket after a day on the hill.
Crawley from Peterborough 3rd March 2017
This is our 3rd stay in Millside Cottage, it is a lovely place to stay any time of the year - nice walks and a loverly atmosphere in the village itself. Braithwaite is a nice little village with a well stocked shop and a couple of lovely pubs for something to eat and drink! The cottage is spotless, has everything you would need for a stay, well stocked kitchen, comfortable living area and bedrooms. We have never had any need to contact the team/owners but numbers are available in the house if you need them. Would recommend anyone to stay here, like I say we have visited 3 times before and will defiantly be going back!
Jenn from Liverpool 24th February 2017
Our little family of 3 stayed at the wonderful Millside Cottage for a long weekend over New Years. The stunning location and perfect cottage made it the most wonderful stay. The cottage is finished to a high standard, is very cosy and really well appointed; It offers everything you need, with the added bonus of a warming fire. The location is excellent with three pubs and a well stocked village store within walking distance and stunning scenery with endless walks from the doorstep. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!
Yates Family from UK 30th December 2016
Another enjoyable stay in this beautiful cottage. A true home from home with the added bonus of the wonderful Lakeland scenery. Although cold the weather was pretty good for the time of year, we had plenty of sunshine. This cottage certainly has everything you could need. Loving the remote control fire!! We will be back next year.
Mick, Pam & "Sheba" from Doncaster 18th November 2016
Fantastic cottage. Clean, tidy and very comfortable. Great modern kitchen and lovely sun room. Fabulous shop at the end of the street and great pubs in the village. Lots of lovely walks from the door.
Nick & Jan Johnson from Northampton 19th August 2016
A very well appointed cottage in a beautiful village. The cottage was spotless and had everything you need for your holiday. Both the owners and the agency we booked with are on hand if you need them although we didn't. I would recommend using Keswick Cottages to book your self catering stay in the lake district. We have used it for a number of years and have no complaints about the service they give.
Waddington Family from Doncaster 3rd June 2016
Having stayed at sue and ians bed and breakfast in keswick we had high expectations for the cottage and we were not dissapointed it is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful village with all the amenities that you need its like home from home.the surrounding area is stunning, and you have three very good pubs within a couple of minutes walk which all have good food and some very good cumbrian ales.ian and sue have gone out of theire way to make sure that your stay here will be unforgetable and it is.we shall be returning next year to this fantastic little cottage in a fantastic little village 10 out of 10
phill and jackie from atherton 10th July 2015
Stayed at Millside cottage on a short break which was great as are the staff at Keswick cottages. We hope to be back next time for longer at this cosy clean lovely cottage in a beautiful village.
D Potter from Sunderland 7th November 2014
As you will have already guessed I am going to say that the cottage was perfect. It clean and tidy and in an ideal position for walking and touring. We really enjoyed our stay. However there are a couple of niggles with the description Whilst you can get two cars in front of the cottage, with the other cars parked opposite at the cottages on the other side of the lane, and the dustbin and step,it means manoeuvring is very tight, and the cars are parked very close side by side meaning one car has to move to release the other car. The patio was great for sitting out having meals, but the garden is more a border o shrubs surrounding the patio. The Oven needed cleaning! Do not be put off the cottage is realy nice
The Lavender party from Shropshire 13th June 2014
Millside Cottage is a lovely cottage in a picturesque setting. We chose well when we singled it out as a place to stay. It has everything you need at a high standard too. We would definitely stay there again.
Taylor family from Northumberland 2nd August 2013
I have had the pleasure of returning to Millside on many occasions. It truly is a very special cottage in a very special village with all you could want right on your doorstep. You are very quickly transported to a peaceful world away from the drudgeries of everyday life. The cottage is superbly situated to allow you to walk from the door with routes to suit all from the 'peak baggers' to those who prefer a more leisurely meander. Two very good pubs are within a minutes walk and the shops and amenities of Keswick are just 5' by car. Millside itself is a characterful cottage that has a wonderful relaxing and homely feel. It is maintained to a high standard and has a spacious lounge and a stylish and well equipped kitchen which even makes cooking on holiday seem less of a chore! The enclosed and well established patio / garden deserves a special mention as south facing and when the weather is kind is a most wonderful place to relax with one's favourite tipple whilst admiring the surrounding fells! I hope to have the pleasure of many more visits this gem as it never fails to work its holiday magic of which I never tire.
Millie from Darwen 1st May 2013
Excellent as usual, weather great plenty of walking, eating and relaxing. Pity we have to go home and ‘work’! See you next year or sooner if possible. Ps Love the new flooring
Mr & Mrs Barr from Ayrshire 11th November 2011
Millside a great cottage, we had a great time, two weeks great weather (we were the lucky ones) , handy for pub and beer garden at the top of the hill. Been with Keswick Cottages before and will be again.
Cree Family from Ayrshire 7th January 2011
Just wanted to let you know how good we thought Millside was. It was a refreshing change to find a cottage that allowed and welcomed dogs that was of a very high standard. Normally cottages that allow dogs are a bit basic. Millside was a fantastic cottage, just as good as shown on the website, a lot of thought seems to have gone into making it home from home, The kitchen was a very high standard, as was the bed, we slept so well after our long days walking. The garden was lovely, with a good view Skidaw. Would highly recommend Millside and would once again like to thank the owners for allowing dogs to stay in their cottage. Will definately be staying at Millside again in the future.
