Description

Entering the cottage from the porch, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a charming sociable living space for unwinding after a day of adventures. There is a leather sofa and armchair to curl up on in front of the cosy log-burning stove while you enjoy your favourite series on the Smart TV or a good book.

The brand new kitchen overlooks the pretty garden and comes fully equipped with fridge, induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. On warmer days why not open up the french doors for an al fresco drink and nibble – or even just a serene moment observing the comings and goings of the resident birds and wildlife. At the back of the garage there is a useful utility space with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Moving upstairs there are two beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with king size bed, double windows and plenty of storage space, and the twin bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Both bedrooms have quality beds and mattresses, made up with crisp white bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a mirror with lighting, WC hand wash basin and beautiful bath with shower over, ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles,

There is an electric vehicle charging point next to the private allocated covered car parking space (please note the charging point is shared with Spa Cottage next door)

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to walking routes, or why not bring your bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area with pedal power. There is a lockable shed at the back of the garden for storage.

It would be easy to park up and enjoy a jam-packed car-free holiday. Braithwaite amenities include three lovely pubs serving food and local ales, village shop and a tea room. Theres nearby Whinlatter Forest along with a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities to choose from, a nearby bus stop with routes taking you all over the Lake District, and Keswick town centre only minutes away.

Lovely cottage but wouldn't think it is suitable for 4 Adults especially 2nd Bedroom A few tweaks needed Log burner needs protected glove for opening door when alight and maybe tongs when putting logs on fire Not much storage for food

Glen Cottage has ample pantry storage, both undercounter and overhead, as well as an under-counter fridge. There is also a large freezer in the utility area in the back of the garage, alongside a washing machine and dryer. This could be missed, so we recommend making use of the digital guide that we send to all of our guests prior to arrival- it's got all of the information you could possibly need about each property, as well as helpful local tips and tricks! Or, as always, a member of our team is always either a call or an email away. At Glen Cottage, there are two beautiful bedrooms. Perfect cottage for us, the dog & a week of adventure
Loved our stay at Glen Cottage. Lovely welcome pack for us and the dog. The cottage was very cosy & had everything we needed. Great little garden too & just across the road from the village shop and pubs. Perfect!

Hi Emily, Thank you for your review. Glen Cottage in Braithwaite is very handy for the village shop and the 2 pubs close by serve great food and real ales from the local area. There are plenty of walks right from the doorstep including Barrow and Grisedale Pike or just a walk in to Keswick where there are lots of quirky shops, most of which are dog friendly. Family break
Excellent refurbishment, well appointed and good location with parking for one car. Great house in a quiet part of the Lakes with good access to the hills on foot so no need to drive. Two good pubs in the village and a good village shop with the bare essentials and lots of treats.

The village shop is very handy and with two pubs close by and a café, you are spoiled for choice for food options. There are lots of walks you can do right from the cottage doorstep, including Barrow and Grisedale Pike. Fabulous cottage. Well appointed, super clean, everything you need. Well thought out for comfort and style. Great secure garden for the dogs. Lovely shower, comfy bed, great smart tv. Couldn’t ask for more and reasonably priced. Had a great stay, will be back!
