Description

Entering the cottage from the porch, the spacious open-plan lounge-kitchen-diner provides a charming sociable living space for unwinding after a day of adventures. There is a leather sofa and armchair to curl up on in front of the cosy log-burning stove while you enjoy your favourite series on the Smart TV or unwind with a good book.

The new kitchen overlooks the garden and comes fully-equipped with fridge, induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher.

On warmer days, open up the french doors for an al-fresco drink and nibble, or a serene moment observing the comings and goings of the resident birds and wildlife.

At the back of the garage, there is a useful utility space with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Moving upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with king-size bed, double windows and plenty of storage space. The twin bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Both bedrooms have quality beds and mattresses, made up with crisp, white bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a mirror with lighting, WC, handwash basin and beautiful bath with shower over, ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles,

There is an electric vehicle charging point next to the private, covered car parking space (please note the charging point is shared with Spa Cottage next door)

Guests can enjoy complimentary WiFi.

A great stay
This is a lovely cottage in the heart of the Braithwaite village, accessible for transport, walking, cycling etc. all amenities you would expect & comfortable beds. Parking & electric charging point were an added bonus ( once we worked it out!) Bathroom / hot shower great after a busy day. Decent sized smart TV & a porch for all the wet walking gear! Lovely garden but weather not too warm yet to enjoy to its full potential. Freezer a good plus for food delivery & washing/ drying facilities also excellent. Could get a touch too warm upstairs but reduced the heating to resolve this.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your lovely and detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay in Braithwaite and found the cottage so well located for walking, cycling, and exploring the area, with transport links close by. It’s great to know you found everything you needed for a comfortable stay, from the well?equipped kitchen and appliances to the cosy beds and excellent bathroom for relaxing after a busy day. We’re especially pleased the parking and electric charging point were useful — they can take a little working out at first, so we appreciate your patience! It’s also lovely to hear the porch proved handy for storing all the wet walking gear, and that the garden, freezer, and laundry facilities all added to your stay, even if the weather wasn’t quite warm enough to enjoy the garden fully. Thank you as well for your helpful comment about the temperature upstairs — we’re glad this was easily adjusted during your stay. Feedback like this is always appreciated. We’re so pleased you had an enjoyable stay overall and would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely Home from Home Cottage
A lovely cottage set in the heart of Braithwaite. Lovely views of the hills and woodland from the garden and very quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed and everything was very comfortable. A very modern feel to the property and and lovely deep bath with plenty of warm water for baths and showers. We did have a problem getting the heating to come on but as it wasn't particularly cold it wasn't a huge issue though the towel rail didn't come on all week. We had the log wood burner when it got a little chilly. A well equipped kitchen with everything we needed when we cooked. A very pleasant stay and we can't wait to return.

Hi, Amanda! Thank you so much for your lovely review — we’re delighted you enjoyed your stay at Glen. Braithwaite really is such a special setting, and it’s wonderful to hear you loved the peaceful location, the garden views and the modern, comfortable feel of the cottage. That deep bath is a favourite of ours too! We’re really glad you found the kitchen well equipped and everything you needed ready to hand. It’s great to hear the wood burner kept things cosy when the evenings turned a little chilly. We’re so sorry, though, that you had trouble getting the heating and towel rail to come on. If you’d let us know during your stay, we would absolutely have popped round straight away to sort it — even if it wasn’t especially cold. We never want guests to be without heating or hot water, and we’re always more than happy to help with anything like that as soon as it crops up. But we’re really pleased that, despite that hiccup, you had such a pleasant stay and are already looking forward to returning. We’d love to welcome you back to Glen again. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

This was a truly lovely place to stay with a helpful owner. The location was great located within walking distance of several hiking trailheads, the village shop, and several restaurants. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed.
