Overview

This modern, two bedroom detached cottage is recently refurbished and offers very central accommodation in a quiet, convenient area of the town and there is private parking next to the cottage. Ideally placed for very easy access to both the town centre and Derwentwater. Within minutes you can walk to Hope park, Keswick theatre, Keswick launch, the cinema, bus station, supermarkets and town centre with all its shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. A lovely cottage in a great location.

Description

Elm Cottage is a truly wonderful Lakeland residence from which to enjoy your holiday!

This pretty, two-bedroomed detached cottage is ideally situated within the popular and highly sought after area of Elliott Park in Keswick town centre.The location is peaceful yet makes an ideal base for exploring with walks from the doorstep, the vibrant shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants only minutes away, and Booth’s supermarket (which has an electric car charging point) and E-Venture shop for easy bike hire are minutes away.

The living room is a lovely place to relax and unwind after a day of adventures, with two comfortable leather sofas, quality oak furniture and French doors overlooking the garden area (table and chairs are provided).

The modern kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cookware, cupboard and worktop space. There is a fridge-freezer, gas cooker, washer-dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and a Tassimo coffee machine.

Upstairs, there are two pretty bedrooms, one large twin room and a smaller double room. The twin room is very spacious and has two single beds (which can be made up as a super-king for an additional charge), wardrobe, drawers, and bed-side cabinets. The double room has a double bed, wardrobe, and drawer space. Both bedrooms will be dressed in cool crisp linen and fresh towels for your arrival.

The flexibility of bed configuration makes the cottage an excellent choice for families, couples or walkers requiring a bedroom each.

The bathroom is newly refurbished with shower over bath.

Guests will not need to worry about where to leave their car as there is a private allocated car parking space.

Being only about 15 yards away from Quaver Cottage may prove ideal for two families wishing to holiday together but not to be in the same house.

Great location
We booked for the location and parking and were very happy with both. Access to Booths, buses and Keswick centre all excellent. The cottage was well equipped throughout and kitchen and bathroom good. The pottery and cutlery required up, (2) to dish was most days. No special cooking facilities eg blender. Had to ask what the coffee maker make was - nothing on line or in the house manual -there isn't one. It was Tassimo! We had to wait to a while to download (O2 poor as usual) the manual to find the wifi password. We forgot to download the manual. Most we have stayed in have a card 6” x 4” in a pic frame. The on line facility was very good but lacked some fine details. Now the bad bits. The lounge sofas were very poor and well past their use date (esp in this price bracket). We paid for the singles to be put into super king mode (paying was a first). The beds were awful too hard lumpy and prevented a comfortable nights sleep (again not what I expect in this price bracket). These two failures meant it was not comfortable to sit in the cottage or sleep in it, so we left two days early. The bathroom had a smart light up mirror but very little space to store bathroom essentials and was also missing a shaver point. Lastly the tv was a smart tv but so old (2016 model) that it was from the Samsung hates Apple era so no mirroring from my iPhone. Luckily there was working iPlayer and Netflix so bring a FireTV stick! We enjoyed our stay in Keswick - the cafes, shops lake and no worries about parking.

Great Location for a walking base
Elm Cottage had everything we needed in the kitchen. One bedside lamp was not working. Beds were very comfortable. The only downside was that the house is quite dark inside during the day. Next door to a very good supermarket. Parking was a definite benefit.

a great stay
We had a great week at Elm cottage with all we needed. One bedside lamp did not work even with new bulb. A runner inside the front door would make taking shoes off easier
