Reviews

Great location with parking
Always great to have a property in Keswick with private parking. Parking is tight but we managed with a Volvo XC60 We have stayed at many different cottages in Keswick and the LD with different companies. We always find the Keswick Cottages properties are much better cleaned than others and are well presented. Just a few minutes level walk to the centre of Keswick and even less to Fitz Park, which I think is our dog's favourite place on earth! Furniture looks nice but we didn't find the sofa very comfy, has possibly dropped a little. Beds are ok but on the hard side for us, but that's probably personal taste. There's a small pretty garden to the front with a low fence, which was great for our pooch to pop outside last thing. We also had to leave the door open to allow air to circulate as the downstairs windows are painted shut and do not open. All in all a lovely little cottage in a great location.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your lovely and detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the convenience of having private parking in such a central Keswick location. It's especially helpful to know that even with a Volvo XC60, you were able to manage the space successfully. Your comments about our housekeeping team are particularly appreciated. We take a lot of pride in the presentation and cleanliness of our properties, so it's wonderful to hear that Keswick Cottages continues to stand out positively compared with your previous experiences elsewhere in the Lake District. It sounds as though your dog had a fantastic time too! Being so close to Fitz Park is certainly a bonus, and we love the idea of it being their favourite place on earth. [Emoji Removed] Thank you as well for your constructive feedback. Comfort is always a personal preference, but we appreciate your comments regarding the sofa and mattress firmness and will pass these on to the owner for consideration. We're also grateful that you highlighted the painted-shut downstairs windows, and we'll ensure this is reviewed. We're so pleased you enjoyed the garden and found the cottage to be a lovely base in a great location. Thank you again for your kind words, and we'd be absolutely delighted to welcome you — and your four-legged friend — back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Excellent stay in an excellent cottage.
Stayed for a week at Birchgate and had no issues at all. The cottage is situated 5 minutes from the centre of Keswick and has the benefit of its own parking space. Everything you would need for a comfortable stay is provided including a welcome box for our two dogs. All in all a great cottage in an absolutely astounding part of the country.

Hi, Graham! Thank you so much for your lovely review. It’s great to know the location worked so well for you, being just a short walk into the centre of Keswick while still offering the benefit of a private parking space. We’re especially pleased that your dogs felt well looked after too — the welcome box is always a favourite with our four?legged guests! Thank you again for your kind words. We couldn’t agree more — it really is an astounding part of the country, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back to Birchgate again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

A lovely cottage in the Lakes
We had a lovely time at Birchgate. The cottage is comfortable and very conveniently situated. Our only problem was finding the cottage when we first arrived.

Hi, Carmel! Thank you for your lovely feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you had a great time at Birchgate and found the cottage comfortable and very conveniently located. It’s such a peaceful spot while still being close to everything Keswick has to offer. Thank you as well for mentioning the arrival. As Birchgate is tucked away, we do provide full directions, address details, and arrival instructions in the guest guide, but we appreciate that first arrivals can still sometimes be a little tricky, especially when you're excited to check in! We're always on the other end of the phone, anyway. We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay overall and would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely place to stay, a nice cottage within easy walk of Keswick town centre and Derwent Water.
Enjoyed the stay here, lovely place and will definitely be back. Has its own parking spot which is great because parking wasn’t the best in the surrounding areas.
What a perfect little place to stay. Just right size with lovely lounge with an open fire and close to Keswick centre. We enjoyed walks directly from the cottage so only drove once in the week. Hosts responsive and friendly and there was a little Xmas tree and few other decorations to make it feel homely and Christmassy. We loved staying there and would love to return.
