Description

Millside Cottage is situated in a quiet location, close to the centre of the village and a short distance from the village shop.

There are two allocated parking places at the front of the property.

The cottage has full gas central heating, double glazing and is lovingly maintained with wonderful views of the fells. It is charming and well-equipped, offering very comfortable accommodation for any time of year.

The entrance porch opens into a spacious, well-decorated lounge with a camouflaged-beam ceiling, a log burner, and a leather suite, along with Smart TV with Bluetooth soundbar, which you can connect to your devices.

From the lounge, you enter the fully-fitted kitchen-diner with built in appliances, including oven, a five-ringed ceramic touch-control hob, microwave, washer-dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso Magimix coffee machine with some complimentary pods, as well as a classic filter coffee machine. There is a dining area with table and four chairs with views out to the secluded garden.

From the kitchen, there is a small sun room with comfortable sun-lounger chairs, ideal for afternoon relaxation. This leads to the well-kept enclosed garden which is ideal for families and those sunny days in the Lake District. It has a paved area with table and chairs, many different flowering shrubs and views out towards the fells.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one bedroom with bespoke king-size bed, and one twin with two singles, both with built in wardrobes.

The large bathroom has both a bath and a shower cubicle, and a wash hand basin (the view of Barrow Fell from the bath after a day on the fells is definitely recommended). There is a separate WC next to the bathroom. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided per person.

Braithwaite is a cosy, close-knit village just outside of Keswick. With a village shop, three local pubs, and plenty of walks right on your doorstep, you won’t even need to leave the village.

If you’re looking to venture out into the Lake District without a car, Braithwaite is serviced by the X4 and X5 bus services, running all the way from Workington to Penrith, linking Braithwaite to local train stations.

Spring in the Lakes
Having stayed at Millside on numerous occasionsit still feels like home each time I arrive. The cottage is always warm and comfortable and well equipped, On site parking is good and the enclosed garden is of a great benefit (especially when bringing your dog).Braithwaite is ideally situated for exploring the northern lakes. If like me, you hold a bus pass, travelling around the Lakes from Keswick is a great journey way of enjoying Cumbria.

Spring break in Braithwaite.
We have stayed in Millside cottage several times previously. The cottage has obviously had an upgrade which to be honest was needed, but it's in a lovely location, convenient for travel (minutes to Keswick by car), walking etc. It now has a new log burner, new shower, coffee machine in the kitchen and the paint has freshened up the whole place. Parking is dedicated for two cars and is generally okay but the lane can get busy and congested. There is a new electric charging point for those guests now having electric cars. The garden, although quite small compared to the cottage directly opposite, which we have also used before, is a sun trap and ideal to sit in with a morning coffee. The views are gorgeous and those climbing the "Barrow" can be seen from the kitchen too. All in all, ideally situated, but the TV and associated technology could do with being replaced.

Hi, Malcolm! Thank you for your continued loyalty to Millside — it’s always a pleasure to welcome returning guests who know the property so well. We’re really pleased to hear you’ve noticed and appreciated the recent upgrades, from the new log burner and shower to the fresh décor and added coffee machine. It’s great to know these improvements have enhanced your experience. We’re glad the location continues to work well for you, with easy access to Keswick and lovely walking routes, and that you were able to enjoy the garden — even if smaller than next door, it really does make a wonderful sun trap with those gorgeous views. It’s also great to hear the parking and new EV charging point were useful additions. Thank you as well for your honest feedback regarding the TV and technology. This has been noted and passed on for consideration, as we’re always looking to keep properties up to date for our guests. We very much appreciate your thoughtful review and look forward to welcoming you back to Millside again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Great stay in the perfect location
We had a lovely stay at Millside, the location was perfect. Great walks in the area and very easy to get into Keswick. We hired extra items, that were there when we arrived and the customer team was very quick to respond to an issue we had. Parking was good, but I wouldn't say there was space for two cars. Would be good to have some bits in the kitchen like a set of scales and a rolling pin. But apart from that, we had everything we need and we will be back.

Hi, Hannah! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear you had a lovely stay at Millside and that you found the location ideal, with great walks nearby and easy access into Keswick. It’s also great to know the extra items were ready for your arrival and that our customer team was able to help quickly when needed. Thank you for your helpful comments about the parking and the kitchen equipment – we really appreciate suggestions like these and will certainly pass them on to the owner. We’re so pleased you had everything you needed overall and are especially happy to hear you plan to return. We’d love to welcome you back. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely cottage, nice location for walkers, The Coledale Inn and Royal Oak were great and very friendly. Would stay again.
We loved the house and all the homely comforts it has inside. The conservatory was an added bonus that we got to enjoy on even a wet and dreary day. The kitchen is really well equipped, location perfect right next to the shop and many of the beautiful walks of the Lakes, thank you!
Stunning cottage in an ideal location for walking and visiting Keswick. Cottage is very well equipped, extremely comfortable, warm and cosy, beds are the best we have ever slept in. Lovely secure dog friendly garden with stunning views, bonus of having parking at the front of the cottage. Just steps away from a shop and 2 exceptional pubs. Quiet and peaceful, ideal for couples, small family or friends. Keswick cottages are really supportive, helpful and respond quickly to all queries, we would without question use this company again
