Description

Entering the cottage from the porch, the spacious open-plan lounge-kitchen-diner provides a charming sociable living space for unwinding after a day of adventures. There is a leather sofa and armchair to curl up on in front of the cosy log-burning stove while you enjoy your favourite series on the Smart TV or unwind with a good book.

The new kitchen overlooks the garden and comes fully-equipped with fridge, induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher.

On warmer days, open up the french doors for an al-fresco drink and nibble, or a serene moment observing the comings and goings of the resident birds and wildlife.

At the back of the garage, there is a useful utility space with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Moving upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with king-size bed, double windows and plenty of storage space. The twin bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Both bedrooms have quality beds and mattresses, made up with crisp, white bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a mirror with lighting, WC, handwash basin and beautiful bath with shower over, ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles,

There is an electric vehicle charging point next to the private, covered car parking space (please note the charging point is shared with Spa Cottage next door)

Guests can enjoy complimentary WiFi.

Lovely cottage
We had a lovely stay in Glen cottage though when we arrived late afternoon there was no key in the key safe! A quick phonecall to Keswick Cottages and it was sorted within 15 minutes, a key was brought out to us ! The welcome packs were lovely but just a little niggle , salt and pepper and a kitchen roll would have been helpful. All in all , a lovely stay , thank you Â…we shall definitely return!

Hello Sarah! Thank you for taking the time to review Glen Cottage. We're delighted to hear that you had such a lovely stay and that you would consider returning in the future. We do apologise for the issue with the key safe on arrival, although we're pleased that our team was able to resolve this for you quickly so that you could start enjoying your holiday without too much delay. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding the welcome provisions and will take these into consideration. Guest feedback means a great deal to both ourselves and the property owners, helping us to continually review and enhance the experience we provide. During your next visit, if you haven't already been, we'd highly recommend a visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle, one of the area's most iconic landmarks, where the breathtaking views are just as impressive as the ancient monument itself. Thank you again for your kind comments, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Glen Cottage and the Lake District again soon. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages.

Perfection!
The house really makes the most out of its space. Really comfortable and modern yet still cosy. Everything is new, clean and well thought out. Having the downstairs toilet outside is a bonus and also the outhouse with washing machine, drier and freezer - it just frees up so much space. The house instantly feels spacious even though it is quite a small footprint and the garden is beautiful and secure. My parents live in Braithwaite so I know it well and it really does have everything, including being picturesque with pubs, a shop and walks on your doorstep. Would highly recommend this property.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your fantastic and detailed review — it was a real pleasure to read. We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the house and how well it worked for your stay. It’s great to know the space has been used so thoughtfully to feel both modern and cosy, and that everything felt clean, new, and well considered. Those little extras like the downstairs WC and the outhouse with laundry and freezer really do make a big difference, so we’re pleased these stood out for you too. It’s also wonderful to hear you appreciated the garden — having a secure and beautiful outdoor space is always such a bonus. And of course, Braithwaite really is a fantastic spot, so it’s lovely to hear your local insight and how much you value everything it offers right on the doorstep. Thank you again for your kind recommendation — it truly means a lot to us. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely cottage in great location.
This cottage is perfect for anyone wishing to base themselves at Keswick. Great bus service so you don't have to use the car. Only complaint would have been a lighter duvet on bed as being a soft East Anglian we don't even use that tog in the winter! The cottage is great though with a lovely back garden which it would have been nice to sit in but unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you found the cottage to be such a great base for exploring Keswick, and that the excellent bus service meant you could leave the car behind — a real bonus for enjoying the area at a relaxed pace. Thank you as well for your comment about the duvet. We appreciate that comfort preferences can vary, and it’s helpful to have this feedback — especially for guests who prefer a lighter option. There are actually lighter togs in the cupboard on the landing. Please feel free to call us to point you in the right direction! It’s a shame the weather didn’t quite cooperate for you this time, as the garden really is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy when the sun is shining. Hopefully next time you’ll get plenty of opportunity to make the most of it! We’re so pleased you had a great stay overall and would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Beautiful, quiet location, great starting point for hikes, very well equipped, plenty of space and a fantastic garden!
This was a truly lovely place to stay with a helpful owner. The location was great located within walking distance of several hiking trailheads, the village shop, and several restaurants. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed.
