The four comfortable bedrooms are nicely furnished, with plenty of storage, and quality mattresses for a good nights sleep. There are two double bedrooms with en-suite facilities and TVs, and two twin rooms, one of which boasts a TV, and these are serviced by a sleek family bathroom. Each bedroom will be dressed in luxury crisp white bed linen and towels ready for your arrival.

Lots of potential, but needs work
Wordsworth House is a good size, certainly big enough for 8 people, but requires some work to bring it up to its potential. The sitting room is lovely, well-furnished and by far the best room in the property. From here it all goes downhill a little and ends up feeling more like a student let than a good quality holiday rental. The kitchen is a good size, but the range, fridges and freezer have all seen better days (one fridge smelt awful) and the dishwasher desperately needs replacing. It also feels as though it's been equipped with items salvaged from a jumble sale and was extremely difficult to cook anything without having to improvise. One of the oven trays provided doesn't even fit the oven? Two of the chairs provided for the dining table were broken (reported but not replaced) which meant that every time we ate together two people had to perch at the island, which was extremely awkward. The bedrooms are all a good size, but the ensuite in the top bedroom is incredibly small, has no shelving or storage and the hinged door makes an awful screeching noise when opened. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall when we arrived and when reported it was simply removed from the wall and left on the floor. There is also very little storage, the top double bedroom has no wardrobe or drawers, just a tiny hanging rail and two equally small shelves, so you feel as though you can't really unpack. The window is also very much in need of repair and replacing – the frame is visibly rotting and the cavity between the double glazing is broken and full of condensation. Mattresses and pillows across all bedrooms have also all seen better days and aren't particularly comfortable. There is a washing machine and tumble drier, but again both are on their last legs and the house generally lacks some conveniences that would make the difference, such as a shaving socket in bathrooms, wardrobes and drawers in bedrooms etc. The parking space is useful, but very tight and I think anyone with a larger car would struggle. All in all the house has a lot of potential but hasn't been maintained or updated and generally feels just a bit tired.
Midweek break with friends
Good location, house was comfortable & clean, well equipped kitchen with good seating area for eating. Parking space at side of property a little tight for parking. Good communication & information from Keswick Cottage's staff.

Hi, John! Thank you for your lovely review. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the great location of Wordsworth House and found it comfortable, clean, and well equipped — especially the kitchen and dining space for relaxing together. Thank you as well for mentioning the parking. We appreciate your comment that the space is a little tight for large cars, although we’re glad it was still usable during your stay. It’s also great to hear you found our communication and information helpful — that’s always really important to us. We’d be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Great place in great location
We had a lovely stay at Wordsworth house in Keswick. Great location for the centre of Keswick and our Saturday Parkrun. We hired the hot tub which was lovely and hot and a great addition to our weekend. House very clean. Showers hot with good water pressure. Great kitchen and communal areas.

Hi, Caroline! We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Water pressure is very important, especially after long walks! We can't wait to see you again soon. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages
