Description

Styled to a beautiful high standard, the Townhouses offer you the option to stay together with friends or family in your very own private Keswick cottage.

Built at the turn of the century in the vernacular slate architecture, the Townhouses are warm and welcoming, yet stylish, light and spacious. The houses are tastefully stocked to make your stay in the Lake District a pleasure. Many period features are retained and sympathetically restored, including original floor tiles, fireplaces and ceiling coving. The four elegant bedrooms are spread out over three floors for space, comfort and privacy.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious bedroom with king-size bed, a well-stocked kitchen teamed with rustic bench and seating, and also a shower room to the back of the house. Essentials such as cutlery, utensils, cookware and appliances are paired with indulgent little extras such as an espresso machine.

The stylish living area is on the first floor, with a log-burning stove to complement the central heating enjoyed throughout. A flatscreen Smart TV permits access to Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime (please bring your subscription details to log in to these services) as well as a DVD player and normal TV channels. Also on the first floor is the main family bathroom, and a double bedroom. Cole and Lewis bathroom toiletries are offered in the bath and shower rooms, together with fresh towels.

The twin bedroom is on the second floor and can be made up as super-king on request (please be aware there is a £15 charge for this service), along with another double bedroom.

High-specification WiFi is provided throughout for your convenience and connectivity to home.

Each house has its own private outdoor area, with seating, to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine at the end of the day.

The restaurants, wine bars, supermarkets and other diversions of Keswick are only a moment's walk away, and the quietude of the fells can be experienced in under an hour's walk or a few minutes drive.

Windows open onto views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the north and to Catbells, over the rooftops of Keswick, to the south.

Visitors to No.5 have the convenience of two complimentary parking permits to the adjacent long stay car park.

Please note the Townhouses are not available for hen or stag events.

Keswick offers plenty of activities and amenities for your stay. Whether you're looking for adventure activities, retail therapy, or new and exciting things to do, there's something to keep everyone entertained.

Need to stock up on groceries for your self-catering Keswick holiday? Booths and Co-Op are Keswick's two main supermarkets, with produce also available on the Keswick Markets.

If you're looking to venture out into the Lake District without a car, Keswick is serviced by the X4 and X5 bus services, running all the way from Workington to Penrith, linking Keswick to local train stations

Family getaway
The location was perfect for us and good to have parking nearby. The beds were comfortable and bedrooms a nice size. There were a few issues that we would expected more on. When booking for a week you would expect a more substantial welcome back - not extravagant, just a pint of milk and box or tea bags etc - not a few long life sachets. The kitchen was too small for six of us, you had to move chairs around all the time and think we all banged our head on the cupboard where the crockery is. It didn't flow. One of the chairs was unstable so we move it out of the way. The fridge was too small for a weeks stay with 6 people. The tv needs to be raised so you can see if from all seats. Lovely to have a log burner.

Disappointed
Lovely bedrooms and lounge Surface clean only. Great location.Disgusting toilet brushes. Fridge far too small for 8 people. Kitchen needs attention. Heating either freezing or boiling coming on at odd times one day it was -4 and didn't come on until 9am so house was very cold. Expected higher standard for the price. Other issues too. Would not recommend or stay again unless changes made. Feedback sent to company 2 days ago with no response as yet.

Hi Sarah. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at 7 The Townhouses. I was sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay and that were some shortcomings with the cleanliness and maintenance. We know how important these things are for an enjoyable stay and we are so sorry that this was not up to our usual high standards. As we explained in our email, we are a small, local agency and we would have called round straight away to rectify the issues raised if they had been reported so please never hesitate to contact us. We do hope you will come and stay with us again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely week.
5 of us had a lovely Monday to Friday booking at 7 The Townhouses. Everything was as stated and the bathrooms were beautifully clean and the beds very comfortable. We had to ask our neighbour for a corkscrew, they had 3! We did have a problem with the shower over the bath but this was promptly sorted out. During one night the heating randomly came on! No idea why! Otherwise all good. We would come again. It was lovely to be able to walk to all the facilities and not use the car.

Thank you so much for your review! We are delighted to know all five of you had a lovely time staying here. We are so glad you arrived it was exactly as stated and that the bathrooms were beautifully clean and that the beds were very comfortable. We will make sure that there is a corkscrew in for future guests, thank you for letting us know. We're happy that your issue with the bath was rectified quickly. Its is great to know overall you had a good stay and that you enjoyed being able to leave the car behind and walk into the town centre. We would love to welcome you again! Hopefully we will in the future! Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Apartment was great, clean and spacious which was very useful for us as a family of 5 with two teenagers. Fantastic location right in the heart of Keswick with everything on the doorstep. We particularly enjoyed a trip the Theatre on the Lake and mountain biking at Whinlatter forest. Proximity to Derwent water was a bonus too. Access via back stairs not an issue for us but worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues. Would thoroughly recommend.
Great place, warm and really good location and easy to get to some fantastic walks. Rebecca and Sarah at the management company were really responsive - we have an issue with the tv and Sarah sorted it immediately.
The house is gorgeous, helpful to have a downstairs bedroom and bathroom for an elderly member of our group. The house is nicely decorated, spacious and the kitchen is well supplied for making meals. I was particularly impressed with the customer service, the staff were super helpful with any questions and local recommendations. Some of us enjoyed a gorgeous walk up Cat Bells and to Lingholme, where the lunch is INCREDIBLE.
