Description

Styled to a beautiful high standard, the Townhouses offer you the option to stay together with friends or family in your very own private Keswick cottage.

Built at the turn of the century in the vernacular slate architecture, the Townhouses are warm and welcoming, yet stylish, light and spacious. The houses are tastefully stocked to make your stay in the Lake District a pleasure. Many period features are retained and sympathetically restored, including original floor tiles, fireplaces and ceiling coving. The five elegant bedrooms are spread out over three floors for space, comfort and privacy.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious bedroom with twin beds (which can be made into a superking for £15), a dining room, and separate kitchen-lounge. Essentials such as cutlery, utensils, cookware and appliances are paired with indulgent little extras such as a Tassimo coffee machine.

The stylish living area is on the ground floor, with a log-burning stove to complement the central heating enjoyed throughout. A flatscreen Smart TV permits access to Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime (please bring your subscription details to log in to these services) as well as a DVD player and satellite TV channels. Also on the first floor is the main family bathroom, and a double bedroom. Cole and Lewis bathroom toiletries are offered in the bath and shower rooms, together with fresh towels.

On the first floor, you'll find the spacious bathroom, as well as a double bedroom. Also on this floor is a king-sized bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, perfect for families or large parties for added access and privacy.

On the second floor, there is another double bedroom and en-suite king.

High-specification WiFi is provided throughout for your convenience and connectivity to home.

Each house has its own private outdoor area, with seating, to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine at the end of the day.

The restaurants, wine bars, supermarkets and other diversions of Keswick are only a moment's walk away, and the quietude of the fells can be experienced in under an hour's walk or a few minutes drive.

Windows open onto views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the north and to Catbells, over the rooftops of Keswick, to the south.

Visitors to No.9 have the convenience of two complimentary parking permits to the adjacent long stay car park.

Please note the Townhouses are not available for hen or stag events.

Keswick offers plenty of activities and amenities for your stay. Whether you're looking for adventure activities, retail therapy, or new and exciting things to do, there's something to keep everyone entertained.

Need to stock up on groceries for your self-catering Keswick holiday? Booths and Co-Op are Keswick's two main supermarkets, with produce also available on the Keswick Markets.

If you're looking to venture out into the Lake District without a car, Keswick is serviced by the X4 and X5 bus services, running all the way from Workington to Penrith, linking Keswick to local train stations

Reviews

Another lovely week in Keswick
The Townhouse is located very close to the town centre with plenty of restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. Lovely Derwent Water with boat trips around the lake only a 15 / 20 minute walk. The house is very spacious with bedrooms and bathrooms spread over 3 floors. We noticed that compared to other locations we have stayed at, this one is right on a busy main road and the front bedrooms can be noisy with traffic early morning and at night. It wasn't a problem as we are up early to walk the dogs in Fitz Park (beautiful for an early bit of exercise with the pooches), The house contains everything you will need to enjoy your stay. All the amenities you can think of to be fair. Our only other comment is that the patio doors at the rear of the house lead out to a garden space which isn't contained for the dogs. It's a shared area where recycling and waste bins are stored for 3 properties. We weren't able to leave the patio doors open (in sweltering weather) as the dogs would disturb the neighbours in their back gardens during the evening. We felt that the house would benefit from a small fence and gate which would isolate dogs from the other properties. Again this wasn't a major problem for us but we would have preferred a secure gated area for the dogs. Don't be put off by the above, it's an honest review and we really did have a brilliant time hence the 5 stars. The Keswick Cottages crew are very helpful and we'll certainly be looking to book a property for next year.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your fantastic and honest review. We’re delighted to hear you had such a brilliant time at The Townhouse and that its spacious layout, excellent facilities, and central location worked so well for your stay. It’s wonderful to know you made the most of everything Keswick has to offer, from the restaurants and bars just a short walk away to the beautiful walks around Fitz Park and Derwentwater. It sounds like your dogs enjoyed their holiday just as much as you did! [Emoji Removed] Thank you as well for your balanced feedback. As you mention, the property is situated on one of the main routes into Keswick, and while that brings the convenience of being so close to the town centre, it can mean some road noise from the front-facing rooms. We appreciate you sharing your experience, particularly as it didn't impact your stay. We're also grateful for your comments regarding the rear patio area. The outdoor space is shared with neighbouring properties and is accurately described in the listing, but we completely understand your thoughts on how a small enclosed area could be beneficial for guests bringing dogs. We'll certainly pass this suggestion on to the owner for consideration. Thank you especially for ending on such a positive note. We're delighted that these points didn't detract from what was otherwise a 5-star stay, and your kind words about our team mean a great deal to us. As a small, local, family-run business, it's always lovely to hear that our help and advice were appreciated. We look forward to helping you find the perfect property for your next Lake District visit! Best wishes, Keswick Cottages
