Description

Styled to a beautiful high standard, the Townhouses offer you the option to stay together with friends or family in your very own private Lakeland residence. Built at the turn of the century in the vernacular slate architecture, the Townhouses are warm and welcoming yet stylish, light and spacious. The houses are tastefully stocked to make your stay in the Lake District a pleasure. Many period features are retained and sympathetically restored, including original floor tiles, fireplaces and ceiling coving. The four elegant bedrooms are spread out over three floors for space, comfort and privacy.

On the ground floor there is a spacious bedroom with king size bed, a well stocked kitchen teamed with rustic bench and seating, and also a shower room to the back of the house. Essentials such as cutlery, utensils, cookware and appliances are paired with indulgent little extras such as an espresso machine.

The stylish living area is on the first floor with a log burning stove to complement the central heating enjoyed throughout. A flat screen smart TV permits access to Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime (please bring your subscription details to log in to these services) as well as a DVD player and normal TV channels. Also on the first floor is the main family bathroom, and a double bedroom. Cole and Lewis bathroom toiletries are offered in the bath and shower rooms, together with fresh towels. The twin bedroom is on the 2nd floor and can be made up as super-king on request (please be aware there is a £15 charge for this service), along with another double bedroom.

High specification wifi is provided throughout for your convenience and connectivity to home. Each house has its own private outdoor area, with seating to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine at the end of the day. The restaurants, wine bars, supermarkets and other diversions of Keswick are only a moment’s walk away yet the quietude of the fells can be experienced in under an hour’s walk or a few minutes drive. Windows open onto views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the north and to Catbells over the rooftops of Keswick to the south. Visitors to No.5 have the convenience of two complimentary parking permits to the adjacent long stay car park. Please note the Townhouses are not available for hen or stag events.

Lovely property - great location
Lovely 4 bed townhouse house (1 large ground floor bedroom and shower room). Well equipped. Courtyard garden. Pet friendly. Beautiful views from living room (Skiddaw) and within walking distance of Derwentwater, with theatre by the lake, access to boat trips etc. Good location in Keswick. Decorated to high standard. Accommodated our party of 6 adults and 2 children without any overcrowding. Beds very comfy! Parking permits issued for cars to use car park. No parking outside property. Only need to take this into account if severe mobility issues. Fab property and would return.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review of 5 The Townhouses! We are so happy you found this a lovely townhouse to stay in. We are pleased to know that you found it spacious, comfortable, well equipped, enjoyed the courtyard garden and the beautiful views of Skiddaw. The complimentary digital parking permits are a great feature of 5 The Townhouses. We hope you had a fantastic time and hope to welcome you back again. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

House in central location but extra attention to detail needed.
The town house is on a main road and so if you are a light sleeper then this isn’t the place for you. The old saying put the wood in the hole is literal in this property and the noise on the ground floor is loud with it sounding like the front door is open. Location is great for exploring Keswick. Whilst the house had everything we needed, the cleanliness fell significantly short of what we have experienced before from the same company which was disappointing. The property could do with a bit of TLC to make this a more enjoyable stay. Parking wasn’t an issue for us in winter but can imagine in summer it may be more challenging.

We're so sorry that you felt there were some shortcomings this time. As soon as you made us aware there were some cleanliness issues the Housekeeping manager called round to see you and rectify them personally straight away. This is certainly not our usual standard and please be assured additional training has since been completed with the cleaner. The Townhouses are situated in central Keswick only a stones throw from the lovely independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants etc. so while this is extremely convenient, unfortunately some noise is inevitable. We do look after a number of beautiful properties on the outskirts of Keswick and the surrounding villages so if you would prefer a more peaceful/rural location please get in touch and we would be happy to make some suggestions for your next holiday. We hope to welcome you and your family again soon!

Excellent stay. The property accommodated 8 of us very comfortably. Kitchen equipment was of good quality and the whole place was very clean and warm. We will definitely be staying again.
Wonderful place to stay in Keswick - right in the heart of the town. Helpful and responsive hosts
Visiting Keswick as a surprise for a family member, Keswick cottages could not have been more helpful from start to finish. Allowing us to check in earlier than 2pm to decorate the cottage and ensuring everything was fresh and immaculate beforehand. We had an amazing time at this spacious townhouse, the photographs do not do it justice. All the rooms were cleaned thoroughly and were of great size, perfect for 7 people and 1 dog staying for 3 nights. The outdoor space was perfect for the summer weather! We love sitting outside and used this space every morning and evening, it’s a definite sun trap and so spacious! All the facilities and equipment provided by the owners was great and all cooking equipment worked perfectly! The tablet in the lounge with personalised information about our stay was a lovely surprise, and the information on it was extremely helpful. Last comment, has to be the location! It was perfect!! Although Keswick is already a small town and easy to walk around, this location was so central! We could not believe it! Only issue being the car parking isn’t reserved so can be difficult to find, but the central location is excellent and car parking wouldn’t take away from this great place! We had 3 cars and all got parking within 5 mins walk (if not closer). Thank you for such a lovely stay! We could not recommend enough.
