Description

The Ridgeway is a beautiful Victorian property, with many personal touches to create a ’home from home’ feel and ideal for those wishing to be close to all local amenities but just out of the way of traffic and crowds.

The fully enclosed south facing patio has wonderful views to the fells for perfect al fresco dining. Private parking is allocated opposite for one car.

The large, bright lounge with high ceilings on the first floor has a fabulous bay window looking out over Keswick to Catbells and the fells beyond. There are two large sofas and an open fire for cosy winter nights, with dining table in the picture postcard bay window. There is a Smart TV, DVD player, and plenty of Lakeland guides, books and games.

The twin bedroom with solid oak furniture (chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside tables) is also on the first floor with lovely views towards Latrigg. This room can be converted to a King-size bed upon request.

The first floor bathroom is fully tiled and has a double ended bath, separate shower cubicle, towel rail and wash hand basin. There is a separate WC on this floor.

On the ground floor there is a bright king bedroom with a leather chair positioned in the bay window overlooking the patio/garden. There is a new Euro King Size bed with quality mattress, plenty of storage, a flat screen TV/DVD, dressing table and lovely high ceilings. Both bedrooms are dressed with luxury linens and fresh white fluffy towels.

The very modern kitchen is also on the ground floor with fitted units, granite worktops, built in electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, DAB radio and breakfast bar, with well stocked cupboards with everything you would need on a self-catering holiday.

There is a sizeable utility room at the back of the apartment for walking gear and bikes, with a tumble dryer and providing a useful back door with rear access to the street.

The downstairs shower room has a shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Keswick offers plenty of options to keep you occupied during your stay. For walkers the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trial which starts next to the Keswick Leisure centre is a 5 kilometre (10 kilometre there and back) walk along what was once a railway track. It offers beautiful views and is a multi-user trial suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. If you fancy something with a little more elevation and spectacular views, Latrigg and Walla Crag can be reached from your doorstep, and you can even tick off some Wainwrights! 10 minutes out of Keswick is Whinlatter forest, which offers a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities.

Keswick itself offers lots of amenities, from shops to cafés, pubs to theatres, you will be spoilt for choice.

Great location and lovely views
We enjoyed our 3 night stay as The Ridgeway is in an ideal location for walking into Keswick and also reaching 2 supermarkets. Apartment is comfortable, beds and linen very nice. Kitchen well stocked, just be aware all the knives need sharpening as they're completely blunt! Views from the first floor living room lovely, also nice and bright The downstairs shower room works fine but the shower itself is very small so would be awkward to use for anyone larger than a size 12 woman Weather not good enough for us to sit out but there is a private patio area which will get the sun afternoon/evening A single parking space, bit tight for an average size car ( focus) but very convenient at the front of house
A great base
Three of us plus a dog stayed there . The Ridgeway was very clean & comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped. It is an excellent base for staying in the Lakes & has its own dedicated car space which is a bonus in Keswick . Wonderful views over to the hills from the dining room . Would definitely stay there again easy access to the town & shops . We were also lucky to have brilliant weather .

Thank you for taking the time to write an amazing 5* review of The Ridgeway, we are so happy to hear you all enjoyed your stay! The Ridgeway is a fantastic Keswick base with beautiful views, especially when the weather is equally as beautiful. We hope to welcome you all back in the future. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Lovely property
The Ridgeway met all my expectations in terms of facilities and items provided. I've never had a property with a cocktail shaker and cocktail glasses before! When I raised a small issue with Keswick Cottages it was dealt with very promptly. All the staff I spoke to were pleasant and courteous. Being close to both the town centre and the bus station was ideal. Only the steep hill to the property presented a challenge! My daughter and son-in-law are keen cyclists, and the rear access and the utility room meant the property met their requirements for access and safe storage. Overall, a lovely property!

We loved our stay it was the perfect location. The beds were incredibly comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at Ridgeway. It is a very roomy property (we were 4) & was extremely well equipped. The parking right outside the front was convenient. The real fire was a lovely treat for the winter evenings. Also the property was nice & warm with very reliable hot water. It is also centrally located to visit the beautiful Keswick & surrounding fells. Very much recommended!
We come to the Lake District twice a year and this was our first time at Ridgeway. Excellent value for money, quiet location, 5 minute walk into town, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and simple, easy to follow instructions for everything. Will definitely be back and we as a family of 4 highly recommend it!
