Description

Skiddaw Skies is situated in a quiet no through road in the heart of Keswick, an ideal location for easy access to local amenities, Fitz Park and the beautiful Lake Derwentwater, yet tucked away from any passing traffic or passers-by. This apartment is the upper floors of a lovely Victorian property, accessed by a flight of steps, and its elevated position provides fabulous panoramic views across the fells from all windows.

The lounge is spacious, light and comfortable, with two settees, dining table and chairs, internet enabled Smart TV with integrated DVD, CD player and large windows looking across Keswick towards Catbells and the north western fells. This room has an open fire for cosy winter evenings and books and maps on the local area are provided.

The modern fitted kitchen is situated next to the lounge and is well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave and a breakfast bar with great Latrigg views.

The luxurious main bathroom is fitted to a high standard, with a large shower, roll-top bath, wash basin and WC.

On the middle floor, there are two adjacent bedrooms. The large double bedroom has oak furniture providing plenty of storage space, a flat-screen TV and a super-king sized bed from which the fantastic fell views can be admired. This room has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, wash basin and WC.

The second bedroom has twin beds, oak furniture and views towards Skiddaw.

The top loft floor of Skiddaw Skies has been recently converted to a third bedroom with twin beds, oak furniture and ensuite WC with basin. The two large velux windows on either side of this room provide amazing views of both Skiddaw and the north western fells. All bedrooms are dressed in luxury linens and towels.

There is a superb roof terrace with furniture which is the perfect place to sit and take in the wonderful scenery over a sunny breakfast or on summer evenings. A private parking space for one car is allocated just opposite the property.

Skiddaw Skies is suitable for bookings with one small dog.

Please note the property has a number of flights of stairs so may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

An Early 2024 Break in Keswick
Skiddaw Skies is a large and comfortable property situated in an ideal position for access to the town while giving spectacular views of the fells around Keswick. Our stay was perfect, communications were good and the accommodation was actually better than the online images. Close to town but quiet and very comfortable. Nicely updated to include a lovely main bathroom, a modern kitchen and bedrooms thoughtfully equipped with nice bedding and pillows you can actually sleep on. En suite to the two rooms we used, again well appointed, although if you're taller than average you may need to watch your head in them. There's a handy decked balcony with table and chairs to the rear, a little slippy give the time of year and decking but not dangerously so and a large selection of games and DVDs for those Lakes days that test your outdoor gear. There are a lot of steps if you have mobility issues, but we didn't find that a problem. This is a great place to stay and could easily have been spacious enough for more than our small group.

Thank you so much for this review! We are so happy you found it to be situated ideally for access to town and it does provide some amazing views of the surrounding fells. We are so glad your stay was perfect and you enjoyed the updated main bathroom and that you found the beds well appointed. The decking is a great feature of the cottage. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the generous selection of games and DVDs. There are lots of steps but we have made that detail clear in the description of the cottage. We are so glad you found this a great place to stay and we hope you had a great time exploring Keswick. We hope to welcome you back if you visit again. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

A review of Skiddaw Skies
This apartment is in a very convenient place for the centre of Keswick. We found it clean, comfortable and well equipped. I don't have many criticisms, however, there is only one parking space which was made difficult to access by cars parking on the pavement opposite. There are a lot of stairs in the property - I counted 66 from street level to the top bedroom. The doors have closures on them because they are fire doors and these can be a bit fierce - one shut on our 6-year-old granddaughter's finger! We had some problems with opening the main bathroom door. While the welcome packages in the kitchen were very generous and useful, there was only one spare toilet roll which was not kept in the bathroom but in the cleaning cupboard.

The property is located right in the centre of town. Huge property with 3 large bedrooms. Nicely decorated with comfy beds and sofas. Well equipped kitchen with a lovely terrace out the back. Loved the little extras like kids games and books. Fantastic find and highly recommend.
A lovely apartment with fabulous terrace. Second time that we have stayed in this apartment and it did not disappoint. Very well laid out with lots of room and equipment. Spent a lot of time on the decked terrace which has stunning panoramic views of the mountains. Town centre on the doorstep. Did my first serious paddle boarding on the lake and I am a convert. Highly recommend the apartment and the area.
Great location and lovely apartment with terrace that offers beautiful views. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
