Great accommodation and views
Top quality accommodation, clean and everything we needed. Fantastic views and good location for visiting Keswick and surrounding area. Responsive service during booking process. Ideal place to stay for 4 in northern lakes
Perfect multi family stay
Grandparents, parents, infant and 3 dogs. What an absolute gem. Our fourth cottage stay in the lakes and we will never look at another one. Hotel quality bedrooms and linen. Lovely little welcome pack. We purchased a hamper and breakfast pack and seemed expensive but local, great products and it was all put in the fridge ready for us and it meant we didn’t need to drive out to shop straight away. Location was perfect for the dogs with a good selection of walks from the door. 10 minutes into Keswick and all that it offers. We did need to keep an eye on our grand daughter as a few steps, and stairs to the front door are open and steep. Maybe should have hired the stair gate but we were mindful of extras adding up. Our third dog was another £15! There were little notices about with instructions one of which was no dogs in the bedroom as per booking but couldn’t see that on my booking confirmation. Also the doors don’t fit all that well so although you think you’ve closed them all it took was a couple of taps from the paws to open them!!! Maybe the sofa has been changed since the last review but we found no problem with it. Very comfortable and will definitely rebook

Thank you so much for your review of Lake View Cottage! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay here and found the bedrooms hotel quality. We're so pleased you liked the complimentary welcome pack and that you ordered the hamper and breakfast pack, all of the produce is from local sellers! We're so glad you found the location perfect, situated in Thornthwaite in the old Swan Inn, it offers a tranquil escape to the Lake District. Its only a short drive to Keswick too. Thank you for your comments about the instructions and doors, it is very helpful when our guests provide feedback. We hope you had a wonderful time and we can't wait to welcome you again when you next visit the Lake District. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Breathtaking Views, amazing cottage / appartment - and absolute gem - highly recommended
INCREDIBLE - that's the best word I can describe this gorgeous, perfect cottage. Located in the former Swan Coaching Inn. It's immaculate inside. First off, the views, from every aspect of this gorgeous place - front and back, the views are breathtaking. you walk up the little stairs to your own private front door, and into a little cloak -where you can leave boots/coats, and then up 3 or 4 stairs and into the lounge. A true "welcome home" feeling. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (ensuite and the other bathroom a single step from the bedroom), a great brand new kitchen, with everything you need, from Dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, full-size separate fridge & freezer, and every utensil and cooking equipment you need - plus a gorgeous window seat. A door then leads to an outside enclosed/safe terrace, where you can drink your coffee and be gobsmacked by those views again. The WIFI is BT and very fast (stream films on TV etc), and there's a smart TV for those rainy later afternoons/evenings after a walk, where you can curl up on the sofa. There's even a little dining table for 4 - and whilst there is no Chimmney (given it's a converted pub) the owners have created a little heater, that has a flame effect, so it feels like a little fire - very cute and warming and it does the job really well. The owners of this place have thought of everything, designed the place with real care, and left it spacious and snug all at the same time. We had 3 nights booked but extended to 4 as we didn't want to go home. Short walk across the field, through the woods, and under the underpass of A66 - all fenced off and safe for the dogs, and about 8 min lovely walk from the cottage to the lake edge, then you can walk fully along the edge for as long as you want. I can't rate it enough. It's a short car journey to Keswick, but worth the short ride, to be welcomed back by those views. Found a taxi company "Denise's" who would pick up and drop off with the Dog too - so every base is covered, if you wanted to get into Keswick and both have a few glasses of beer/wine, and not drive. £12.50 each way. Each of the drivers were lovely with the dog too. Keswick Cottages was the booking agent, and they were super helpful too. Best stay away we've had in ages. Highly recommended.

Thank you so much for this 5-star review and recommendation of Lake View Cottage! We love that your word to describe your holiday is incredible! We are so happy you found it a gorgeous, perfect, spacious and snug cottage and that it had a true welcome home feeling. Thank you for your detailed description of the interior and stating that it has everything you need, the window seat in the kitchen is a wonderful feature, as well as the enclosed outside terrace, perfect to sit and enjoy your drinks whilst admiring the fells. The smart TV is perfect for rainy days to stream a good film or TV series. The little heater that has a flame effect really does make it feel cosy and warm. We are so happy that you thought the owners have thought of everything, really put a lot of real care into it. We hope you enjoyed your lakeside walks with your dog. We love that you booked an extra night too! The taxi services in Keswick are extremely convenient and useful if you don't want to drive into Keswick. Thank you so much for your kind comments about our customer service, we love receiving reviews like this because we love to hear about our guests' holidays! We are over-joyed that this was the best stay away you've had in ages and we hope you continue to have more best stays away. Thank you again for this fantastic review. We hope to welcome you again!
