Mountain festival
Stay with family for the Keswick mountain festival, ideal location within easy walk of the town and other attractions. Plenty of car parking however, cafe below recently changed hands so expect to be much busier and with subsequent noise increase when reopens in Sept. Could do with wifi extender to reach back bedrooms as poor also tv remotes need batteries none that worked throughout.

Hi there! Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re really pleased to hear the property worked so well for your family during the Keswick Mountain Festival and that the location was ideal, with everything within easy walking distance. It’s great to know you also found the parking convenient, which is always a real benefit in such a central spot. Thank you for your helpful comments regarding the WiFi and TV remotes. We’re sorry to hear the signal didn’t reach the back bedrooms as well as expected and that the remotes required new batteries — both points have been noted and will be looked into, as these are straightforward improvements that can make a real difference to guest comfort. We also appreciate you mentioning the café below. As it is independently managed, we don’t have control over its operation, but it’s useful context for future guests to be aware that there may be increased activity when it reopens. Thank you again for your balanced and constructive feedback. We’re pleased you had an enjoyable stay overall and would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

An Amazing Property
We stayed at Greta Howe for a long Bank Holiday weekend, along with our close friends. From the moment we entered the first floor property, we were impressed by the spacious vaulted, wooden-beamed ceiling of the living room, and the raised dining and kitchen areas overlooking it. Originally an art and metal crafts evening school from the early 20thC, the nod towards this with the beautiful wooden floors, plentiful windows and metal work around the dining area, added a touch of nostalgia, without compromising on comfort. The three, leather sofas in front of the fire, provided ample seating for the group and even without the fire on, the room was warm and cosy, which surprised us given the height of the ceiling. Immaculately clean throughout, the attention to detail in the decor and finishing touches such as a welcome bottle of prosecco to greet us on our arrival, ensured we instantly felt at home. We only wished we could have stayed longer. This is a true gem of a place, and one which we can't wait to return to! The information about the property, before and during our visit was very helpful, and the App providing much of it, a brilliant idea. Communication with Keswick cottages was great- especially when we decided to book the later check-out the evening before our departure! I had an email reply at 9pm that evening (a Sunday). I can't recommend Greta Howe enough! My only reservation (selfish) is that in so doing, more people may wish to book, thus making it harder for me to book again!

Hi, Sarah! What an absolute joy to read your review — thank you for taking the time to share such a beautifully written and heartfelt account of your stay at Greta Howe. We’re delighted that from the moment you arrived, the space made such an impression, and it’s wonderful to hear how much you appreciated the character of the building, the vaulted ceilings, woodwork, and subtle nods to its creative past. That blend of nostalgia, space, and comfort is exactly what makes Greta Howe so special, and we’re thrilled it resonated with you. It’s lovely to hear that the living space worked so well for your group, feeling cosy and warm despite the impressive height, and that the sofas, fire, and thoughtful layout all added to a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Your comments about the cleanliness, attention to detail, and the little touches like the welcome prosecco are incredibly appreciated — we’re so pleased they helped you feel instantly at home (and wishing you could stay longer is always a good sign!). We’re also delighted that the guest app, pre?arrival information, and our communication helped make your stay seamless — and we’re especially pleased we could sort the late check?out so easily for you, even on a Sunday evening. Your description of Greta Howe as a “true gem” means the world to us — though we completely understand your (very understandable!) concern about spreading the word too far. Rest assured, we’ll be more than happy to welcome you back again whenever you’re ready to return. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Perfect stay at Greta Howe
A short 4 night break with my two brothers in Keswick. Everything was just perfect for our stay from arrival to departure. Greta Howe is comfortable and equipped with everything we needed with so many little details that made for a memorable stay. The kitchen is equipped with a serious cooker and top quality utensils and a large dining table. Bedrooms and beds all cosy with comfortable, the main bathroom with underfloor heating and large shower and bath was perfect. The main seating area with three two seater sofas and smart TV provided wonderful evening film viewing with the remote control operated gas fire adding to the comfort and atmosphere. Maybe a few additional foot rests would be useful as the sofas just too short to lounge. The outdoor facilities are limited to the road facing balcony/entrance access so not somewhere to spend time outside but after days walking and eating in Keswick there was no better place to return after our outings. Everything in Greta Howe was self explanatory so we did not need any help from Keswick Cottages and access and exit went without hitch. We would all recommend Greta Howe as a unique and high quality rental.

Hi, Graham! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your short break at Greta Howe was perfect from start to finish and that the property worked so well for you and your brothers. It’s lovely to know you appreciated the many little details, from the well?equipped kitchen and large dining table to the cosy bedrooms, luxurious main bathroom, and the comfortable lounge with its gas fire creating such a great evening atmosphere. Thank you as well for your helpful suggestion about additional footrests – feedback like this is always appreciated and will be passed on. We’re pleased Greta Howe proved such a welcoming place to return to after days exploring Keswick, even without extensive outdoor space, and that everything was clear and straightforward throughout your stay. We really value your recommendation and are so glad you found Greta Howe to be a unique and high?quality rental. We’d be delighted to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages
