Fantastic week long break at Greta Howe
We stayed at Greta Howe in mid November for my dad's 60th. The place is beautifully decorated and elevated compared to others we looked at. Just a true little gem. The facilities were good and the fire really helped warm the big main room up especially after a day of walking. The big bedroom did take a while to warm up so we left the door to the main room open to get heat into it. We personally found the beds slightly uncomfortable but that's just our preference. One thing I particularly loved about the experience was the digital guide that was provided with the stay which had everything you needed and I especially liked the videos of how to use the appliances. So much work must've gone into it and made the experience a lot easier. There were a couple of things which we made them aware after our stay which they sorted. We personally didn't need anything during the stay but it was good to know that you weren't far away if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

Hi, Abi! Happy belated birthday to your Dad! Greta Howe is a wonderful property, a superb first floor apartment in what was formerly the Keswick School Of Industrial Art, opened in 1894 by Canon Rawnsley, one of the founders of the National Trust and which led the way in the Arts and Crafts movement. We love to make sure that you have everything you need from the moment you step through the door to your accommodation. So, prior to arrival, we send out a digital guide with information about the property, local area, and even how to work the appliances! Lots of work has gone into this, but more than that it's lots of love! We're very proud of our properties, and we love helping people to make memories in the Lake District. Being a small, local team (our office is right in the centre of town!) we're always on hand, day or night, to deal with any issues that may arise during your stay. We're always more than happy to help! Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Great base with luxury feel
I stayed midweek in November for three nights with a Friend. I chose the location in case the weather came in as it was near main roads. The communication was brilliant but we were left alone to enjoy our stay in peace. The place is very well done, and comfortable. Although there were only two of us, it would be big enough for 6 without being on top of each other. The gas fire was very welcomed after a day out on the fells. We were lucky that we have snow up on skiddaw which you can walk to from the door, and catbells too. Would definitely stay again, as it was so clean and homely. If I had to be picky the large bedroom was chilly compared to the rest of the place but I left the door open to the main area to get some heat in there, but that is only to be real picky, it's still a 10/10

Hi, Hannah! We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Greta Howe. We make sure to give our guests all the information they need to enjoy their stay, and make sure you know that we're here whenever you need us. All of the bedrooms have their own Smart TV, so we love to hear that you could both unwind with a good show or film at the end of the night- regardless of individual tastes. The bedrooms are complemented by a feature bathroom with an elegant rolltop bath where you can relax after a day on the fells and enjoy the view to the hills beyond, a large walk in shower cubicle, basing and WC. Off the landing is a smart shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. We'll pass on your feedback regarding the large bedroom, and we appreciate that you let us know! Best wishes, Keswick Cottages.
