The cottage is perfect, cosy and fully equipped! The bath and shower are amazing after a day out on the lake and walks. We stayed with our 2 young children and found the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Portinscale is a lovely little village and easy walk with the pram into Keswick.
Sarah from York 27th July 2018
Arrived with the Beast from the East, but the property was warm and welcoming. Well equipped and presented. Well positioned for a drink / food at the pub. Excellent walking from your doorstep.
John from Wakefield 26th March 2018
Tawny Cottage Portinscale. Booked this for my wife's 50th Birthday. She wanted a quiet break and Tawny Cottage provided just that. The cottage was really cosy and warm, the weather was not good so the open fire was most welcome. Great location, really quiet and with the pub just opposite it was ideal.
Brian from Northumberland 3rd January 2018
A beautiful cottage, clean, comfortable and the Little extras such as towels and the kitchen welcome pack were most appreciated. The cottage is perfectly place in the village of Portinscale and we really didn't need a car once there. The pub a few doors down offers reasonable meals and the staff were really friendly. This is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in and we will definitely be visiting again ????
Claire Hall 29th July 2016
We have been staying two weeks in July and August and, despite a very "poor sunny" summer, we enjoyed our stay. Tawny is a very comfortable house, warm and cosy, and its location is very convenient. We went on foot - nearly every day - to Keswick for our shopping and made alot of hikings and visits. We would warmly recommand Keswick Cottages to people looking after a self-catering in Cumbria.
Tristant from France 24th July 2015
Wonderful cottage, bigger than the pictures make it look. Great parking and equipped with everything you could need.
Martin from Leeds 1st February 2014
Excellent location for walks and seeing the sights, Buttermere, Dodd Woods, Skiddaw all very local and Grassmere and Ambleside not far to drive. All in all a great little stay, local beers a treat and the local pub was really nice, good food. P.S Parking- We parked in the spaces next to the pub at the top of road so was nice and easy to come and go.
Kinsella Family from Bedford 3rd February 2012
We’ve had a lovely week with some great weather for walking. The cottage has been very comfy and cosy. Enjoyed the Quiz Night at The Farmers Arms on Sunday night with a good meal. We loved ‘Go Ape’- all three generations made it round in one piece!
Lewis Family from Worcester 21st October 2011
Lovely Cottage, weather a bit iffy but still had a great week. Going to Go Ape on the way home. We will be back. Thanks
Quinn from Tyne and Wear 25th August 2011
