I can highly recommend Quaver cottage for anyone who wants to be very close to the centre but peacefully tucked away by the side of the river. All we could hear were the birds singing and see lots of wildlife from our patio. The ducks and their babies came calling every morning for their breakfast the whole week! We saw pheasants, rabbits and lots of bird life. The cottage is a home from home fully equipped and so comfortable. We didn’t want to leave it at the end of our holiday!
Jan from South Yorkshire 20th April 2019
Wonderful time as ever. Lovely place to stay, this is our third stay here and will definetly be back.
Tracey and Darren Slater from Nottingham 31st March 2019
a lovely clean and cosy cottage with everything we needed for our stay. The new windows make a huge difference and the beds are so comfy and clean.
Mr & Mrs Robinson from North Shields 6th April 2019
This was our third visit to Quaver Cottage and wont be our last. just like home when we walked in. We've had some lovely walks and the weather has been ok for this time of year. we've also had some nice meals out! Thank You!
Joanne and Brian from Hartleypoo 16th February 2019
Our first stay at Quaver and will not be our last. We have had a lovely stay here and will be sad to go home today. We enjoyed our walk from Grasmere to Elterwater in the pouring rain but lovely to come back to our cottage. Thank you and see you again soon.
Angela and Robby from North Shields 7th December 2018
This is a modern property with a full range of facilities within very easy walking distance from the town centre and even closer access to the high quality supermarket essential for self-catering. Car parking is right next to the property and the river runs behind and is overlooked from the living room French doors. The location is quiet with no passing traffic. We have used the property several times and it always immaculately clean and warm. The facilities and crockery are of a very high standard with a wide range of kitchen tools, glasses and cutlery provided. From the guest book our view is shared by almost all other contributors.
Ian from Cleethorpes 3rd November 2018
We have now stayed twice at this cottage and it is lovely. Near to all the stuff you need: shops, pubs and mountains. Own private parking. Will definitely be back.
Slater from Nottingham 6th October 2018
We stayed for a week in this very comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage. Quaver Cottage is very well equipped and has the advantage of a reserved parking place on site.We had superb weather and after each lovely day walking we sat on the patio to relax in the sunshine and feeding the Mallards and many other birds. We love this cottage and will return,we never used our car as we either walked or used the local buses and Derwent Water Launch. Excellent stay.
E.Walton from Bedfod 2nd June 2018
Beautiful comfortable cottage every thing you need, very clean, close to all amenities and 2 min walk to keswick town centre, booths supermarket on the door step, would defiantly recommend, would stay here again.
J Viggor from Newcastle upon Tyne 29th December 2017
Having used this cottage twice previously we were interested to see how it had been restored following the last devastating flood. Pleased to say it is as comfortable well equipped and welcoming as before. A great cottage in a terrific central location.
Ian B from Cleethorpes 4th November 2017
Would definitely recommend quaver cottage, stayed for a week. Had a lovely time. We will be back. Thank you keswick cottages
Heather angus 1st January 1970
Just returned from a week stay at this amazing cottage. This is my second stay (the first before the flood). This cottage has to be the best equipped for a weeks stay. Never had to eat out once, especially with a supermarket across the road. The cottage also comes with relatively tame pair of pheasants and complimentary bird seed. We shall return again and again and again.
Stuart from Manchester 6th May 2017
A really well equipped property. Everything has been thought. Location is superb. Close to shops and town centre. Extremely comfortable lounge area. Will be recommending cottage to friends who want to go to Keswick
Keith from Ipswich 8th October 2016

Mrs Farrell from Bromley Cross bolton 1st January 1970
Lovely, comfortable, clean cottage perfect position for our long walks. We would defiantly stay here again it is by far the best cottage we have stayed in whilst in Keswick. Would love to stay longer but reality beckons. Until next time x
Hardy Family from Dorset 16th February 2015
Lovely to be in Keswick again. It is our second stay in Quaver Cottage (first 2 years ago). The cottage has been comfortable and cosy as the weather has been wild to say the least! We will certainly use the cottage again and thank you for a really relaxing few days!
Pam & Ian from Cleethorpes 12th January 2015
Lovely little cottage, so very handy for Keswick town. Spotlessly clean, everything we needed was there. Loved feeding the rabbits and ducks from the patio window. We would highly recommend this cottage. Usual excellent service from Keswick Cottgaes. Thanks very much.
The Horsfields from Worksop, Nottinghamshire 7th September 2013
We have had a wonderful stay at Quaver Cottage. Keswick is beautiful with some delightful views and scenery. The cottage itself is situated perfectly and only a short stroll in to the centre. We have found Quaver Cottage to be fully equipped with most of the things we required. Its cosy and comfortable- particularly the beds! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Jennison Family from Yorkshire 16th February 2013
We have had a very relaxing comfortable stay, just the right size and space for us. Found the property very welcoming and lovely and warm. Had a problem as the latch was broken so reported it straight away and was very impressed with the speed and service that it got fixed! Thanks. Spent a day at Borrowdale, Stonethwaite. Lots of rain but absolutely beautiful and it didn't stop us doing much as we had all the right gear! Walked up Robinson-Stunning views. This is an ideal location. Thank you. Will be back
Mr & Mrs Bunnett (&Dilly the Dog) from Gloucestershire 1st November 2012
We have stayed many times in this part of Keswick but this was our first stay in Quaver Cottage. Suspect it wont be our last. Very comfortable accommodation and well fitted out. Ate out a few times (again) at The Pheasant. In a view the best quality pub grub around. Also we ate at Shemara, good quality home cooked Thai food. We will defiantly will go back when we're next over. Enjoyed seeing the garden birds, pheasant and rabbit in the garden!
Pretty Family from Sunderland 27th October 2012
Lovely Cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. Amazing weather- only wore a coat on one day! Thank you
White Family from Herts 12th November 2011
This was a lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage- every little detail was given thought to and much appreciated. Our stay in Keswick coincided with stunning autumn weather – unlike many previous visits and of course we’ll be back again soon! Pam was joined mid-week by friend Beryl when Ray returned to work and they particularly enjoyed the weather, walks and shops, but most of all celebrating and commemorating 11/11/11 up at Castlerigg stone circle. Thank you Berrnett. Thank you Helen and Tony.
