Reviews

Good but not perfect!
This was our second stay at Maiden Moor. On first impressions we were excited to see the Christmas Tree (we stayed Christmas week) and the flat was lovely and warm on arrival. We were disappointed with some aspects. First we found out only by reading a previous review that the hob igniter did not work. This was an old review but when we checked it had not been rectified. Had I not seen this review we would have been unable to cook a meal as there were no matches in the property. The extractor was not working in the non en-suite bathroom, and it was freezing cold so we were glad we didn't need to use this shower as we would have had to open the window. Other niggles (for the premium price we paid) included bulbs out in the ceiling in two rooms, tiles in showers starting to show age (mould, going black) and the TV dropping in and out of signal. The main issue we had though by far was that the bottle holder in the fridge door was worn/broken and when we put the bottle of Prosecco in we did not realise. When we opened the fridge door later it fell forward out of the holder and smashed all over the kitchen! I called Keswick Cottages who sent round another bottle to replace it. I asked if it had been reported but was told it had not. That meant of course we had nowhere to store milk / bottles because the fridge was tiny. We know this cannot be sorted out immediately but it just felt like the place needed a little more care, checking things were working, and general cleanliness. There was a lot of dust on low shelves. Disappointing as this flat had been a favourite, but I doubt we will return.
Ideal place to stay in Keswick
Our second stay at Maiden Moor and when visiting Keswick again, we will stay there. Everything you need for self catering and very cosy. Another benefit, walking distance into Keswick.

The location is definitely a real bonus--we hope you got to see the Keswick Light Switch-On. See you again next year. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

Short break 10-14/11/25
Lovely cottage. Beautifully furnished. Very comfortable. In the centre of town with parking. This was our second stay here and it did not disappoint.

Hi, June! We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Maiden Moor, one of our Gold Award-winning properties. Being central-located and having parking is a massive bonus-- Keswick is notoriously difficult to find parking in, especially secure parking, so we like to make sure our guests have peace of mind during their stay. Maiden Moor is such a homely property, and we're always happy when guests choose to return. It really speaks to the home-from-home feeling that we love about Maiden Moor! We can't wait to see you again next time. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

We stayed days at Maiden Moor in Keswick. It’s located 2 blocks from town shops and restaurants and just down the street from Booth’s, a large, well stocked grocery shop. The apartment is newly renovated and has every convenience. 2 nice bedrooms and 2 full baths with showers. It’s on a quiet street, but close to activity. We had absolutely no issues. Keswick is the ideal place to base your Lake District holiday. Large enough to have many choices, but not crawling with tourists like Windermere and Ambleside. We feel very lucky to have found Maiden Moor and would definitely stay again!
First time to Keswick and honestly what a beautiful place made even better by staying in such a lovely apartment. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. Our teenage daughter didn’t want to leave. Amazing!
Good quality fixtures and fittings, attractive decor, well equipped kitchen, well heated throughout but with heating controls, The extra features such as flasks, welcome packs, kitchen foil and cling film etc, all helped make our stay enjoyable. Parking outside another bonus. Can't think of anything negative to say.
