Description

Tucked away on the edge of Keswick, this private peaceful haven makes an ideal base for exploring all the Lake District has to offer.

As you enter the property you will find yourself in the the heart of the accommodation; the open plan kitchen, dining room and living room offers ample space to gather and socialise with friends and family. The impressive kitchen will certainly tempt you to cook and dine in during your stay. Here you will find everything you need and more; double ovens, warming tray, electric hob with extractor, full size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and wine cooler. There is plenty of counter space, storage in cupboards and even a pantry.

The large dining table makes for the perfect place to gather together and enjoy a hearty home cooked meal, or a place to spread out your maps and guidebooks ready to plan the next adventure. The living room is furnished with two comfortable sofas, easy chair and TV, but the focal point of the room is most definitely the patio doors leading out to an enclosed terrace, where the breath-taking tranquillity and uninterrupted fell views can be enjoyed with your morning coffee.

Moving through to the hallway, you will find a utility space with sink on the right, ideal for storing coats and boots. There is also a small room with cuddle chair, footstool and nest of tables perfectly positioned toward the patio doors so you can enjoy a quiet moment admiring the views.

There are three comfortable bedrooms. The first has a king size bed and ensuite with shower over a bath, the second bedroom has a double bed with ensuite shower room, and the third bedroom has two single beds. All rooms are well furnished with quality mattresses, luxury white bed linen and towels. There is underfloor heating throughout. There is a further modern shower room off the hallway.

Visitors will not need to worry about where to leave the car, there is ample private parking conveniently next to the entrance.

The outdoor space makes a lovely spot for relaxing with a good book or dining alfresco. Hot tub hire is available (add on extras page)

Keswick offers plenty of options to keep you occupied during your stay. For walkers the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trial which starts next to the Keswick Leisure centre is a 5 kilometre (10 kilometre there and back) walk along what was once a railway track. It offers beautiful views and is a multi-user trial suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility scooters. If you fancy something with a little more elevation and spectacular views, Latrigg and Walla Crag can be reached from your doorstep, and you can even tick off some Wainwrights! 10 minutes out of Keswick is Whinlatter forest, which offers a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities.

Keswick itself offers lots of amenities, from shops to cafés, pubs to theatres, you will be spoilt for choice.

Peaceful & Private
This was our second holiday here & we love it. Party of 6, my parents in their late 70's, our 15 & 12 year old sons, myself & my husband (in our 40's). The property is tucked away amongst fields of sheep, which are a delight to watch in the morning whilst having coffee sat on the terraced area & soaking in the wonderful views. The kitchen is superb, a lot of storage space & just about everything that you could possibly need (a coffee machine would be a good addition but we took our mini Nespresso machine with us). The cooking facilities are immense, double oven, a warming drawer & a separate hob area. Full size fridge & freezer are perfect for a party of 6 and the dishwasher got used everyday. Huge dining tables which we used regularly for family meals. The open plan kitchen, dining, living room areas are set up perfectly, it just flows so nicely. The bedrooms are well thought out & nicely decorated with plenty of storage space, King sized beds would be an improvement as there is plenty of room in the main bedrooms to accommodate. Main bed was so comfy, slept so well every night, the en suite is immense (walk in shower would be an improvement to this, to accommodate less mobile guests. We get to stay in the main bedrooms instead of my elderly parents as they cannot use a shower over bath due to mobility issues). 3rd bedroom is perfect for our sons & plenty of storage in there too. The snug area is a delight & so peaceful as it is at the far end of the house, often found my parents relaxing & reading in there (curtains would be a welcome addition to keep the sun out on the sunny days). Outside area was perfect for our puppy to explore & watch the sheep. It is a lovely half mile walk to the main road, so perfect for us taking the dog out in a morning or evening. The only negative for the property is the sofas. They look amazing & they are huge so plenty of room for us all but they really are not very comfortable to relax on in an evening, found myself shuffling around a lot just trying to get into a comfortable in an evening & sliding down on them. We love this accommodation & will be looking to go again next year.
Holiday in Keswick
What a beautiful bungalow and wow those views. No fault found apart from the washing machine being listed as a washer/dryer, and it was only a washing machine. A few extra like cleaning products and cling film would have been useful. Overall an amazing holiday.

Hi Joanna, Thank you for your review. The views from every aspect of Langrigg are incredible. The location is lovely and quiet and not too far to walk in to town. We're thrilled to hear you had an amazing holiday. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

My Happy Place.
My 3rd time at Langrigg so that speaks for itself. It ticks all the boxes for a fantastic family holiday for all ages. We had an amazing week of good weather with spectacular views from the patio from sunrise to sunset. A tranquil escape yet Keswick is a 20 min walk, with lots to see if you wish to. Fully equipped kitchen with up to date appliances and everything in working order. I will be booking my next visit soon!

Hi Beverley, Thank you for your fantastic review of Langrigg Cottage. We are thrilled that you are looking to book for a 4th time. Our party comprised 4 adults and a small dog. The cottage has mountain views from every window. It is spacious and clean. Our only neighbours were sheep! It is an easy walk into Keswick, on a good footpath. We loved our stay and hope to come again.
The view from Langrigg Cottage is stunning, a week in February saw an amazing array of weather and light conditions making the fells look so beautiful. The cottage was very comfortable plus lovely and warm with under floor heating throughout. The kitchen had everything we needed, including decent wine glasses and plenty of room for food storage! The lack of light pollution made for great dark skies at night unfortunately we didn’t get see the aurora but must be great spot for it. We definitely love to stay again and can highly recommend.
A beautiul place to spend Christmas together with stunning views and a very comfortable cottage. Thank you to Keswick Cottages for looking after us so well and for the Christmas gifts. A Christmas to remember!
