Step inside and discover the spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which will immediately impress, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the views (see photos). The fully-equipped kitchen allows the designated chef to get to work preparing and cooking up a delicious meal, while the dining table is the perfect spot to tuck in, gaze at the views and recount past adventures. After a busy day exploring, the living room with comfortable leather seating makes the perfect place to come back and relax with a cup of tea, or catch up with your favourite shows on the wall-mounted Smart TV.
There are 3 modern attractive bedrooms, all with zip & link beds, which provides flexibility to suit different group requirements. The master bedroom can be super king or standard twin, and the two other bedrooms can be king size or compact twin. All bedrooms have new high-quality mattresses, luxury white bed linen and towels.
The beautiful new bathrooms are a very good size; one with basin, WC, heated towel rail and bath with shower unit over the bath, and the second with a substantial shower unit, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
You could enjoy breathtaking views while dining alfresco on warm summer days.
There is a useful utility room with washing machine, separate dryer, and a Belfast sink overlooking Derwentwater.
The lodge boasts ample parking. There are several lovely walks immediately on offer from the door, so don’t forget your hiking boots! Or why not bring your mountain bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area (lockable storage available in shed for pedal bikes but no facilities for charging/storing e-bikes).
Castlerigg Hall campsite is nearby where you can purchase basics such as fresh milk, bread and eggs. Fancy a bite to eat? Why not try the cafe at Castlerigg Hall which is open daily from 12-4 for delicious coffee and cakes, and the Heights Hotel Crag Bar 5 minutes down the lane sells vegetarian and vegan-friendly meals every evening from spring-autumn.
Path to walk down into Keswick (about 25 mins); paths to Castlerigg Stone Circle (about 35 minutes), and Walla Crag (about 40 minutes) with spectacular views down to Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. You may be lucky enough to spot paragliders taking flight!
