A week in Powter Howe
Lake View Cottage is beautifully situated near Lake Bassenthwaite in Powter Howe Thornthwaite. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well appointed and equipped with stunning views from our private patio where we enjoyed Al fresco meals. A bus stop right outside with a regular reliable bus service is available if one didn't feel like driving. it is just a 10 minute drive to Keswick. It is an ideal base for exploring the Northern Lakes. There are steps up to the front door and then again steps up to the living room which may not suit everyone. It did not impact us at all. It was a wonderful home from home and I hope and plan to return and stay there again. Ellen Ireland

A lovely spacious cottage in a perfect location
The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed. I used it as a base for walking and the location is ideal for the Northern and North Western Fells. A real gem.

Wonderful location - I just pulled up a chair to the window and admired the mountain view and the sunrise each morning. Cleanliness, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, balcony, plenty of parking, quiet neighbourhood but only 6min away from Keswick. Also, the app - thank you for providing all the useful information you have gathered.
Very clean, well equipped kitchen, nice grounds and fabulous views front and back. Good location for exploring the northern lakes.
We had the most incredible stay at this beautiful property in the Lake District. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. The location was perfect: peaceful and secluded, but only a short drive (or a long, scenic walk!) to some amazing views, great pubs, and some fantastic hiking trails. We loved being able to set off on foot and find hidden tarns and breathtaking views without even needing the car.Inside, everything was spotlessly clean and incredibly well-equipped . The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, and waking up to the mist rolling over the hills was pure magic. Our host was fantastic — friendly, quick to communicate. If you're looking for a peaceful, charming base to explore the Lake District, you honestly couldn't do better. We didn’t want to leave — and we're already planning our next visit!
