Overview

Awarded a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence by its previous guests, Number Three The Townhouses offers guests a private Lakeland residence in the centre of Keswick for up to eight adults, in three double or king bedrooms and one twin bedroom. The sleeping accommodation is set over three floors, with one bedroom at ground floor level for those who prefer to avoid stairs. Unique to the Townhouses, Number Three retains its original period floor tiling in the kitchen and hallway, and its original log burning fireplace in the living area. Some of the period bedroom fireplaces feature in the bedrooms (decorative only). The kitchen is styled with a nod to the 1950s, featuring Eames DSW chairs based on the original by the American designers Charles and Ray Eames, and teamed with a walnut finish kitchen table. A family bathroom and a further ground floor shower area are provided for convenience. A small private outdoor area with seating for 8 people provides a nice location for a pre-dinner drink. Lockable outdoor storage is provided, perfect for bicycles or other small outdoor equipment.

Description

Styled to a beautiful high standard, the Townhouses offer you the option to stay together with friends or family in your very own private Keswick cottage.

Built at the turn of the century in the vernacular slate architecture, the Townhouses are warm and welcoming, yet stylish, light and spacious. The houses are tastefully stocked to make your stay in the Lake District a pleasure. Many period features are retained and sympathetically restored, including original floor tiles, fireplaces and ceiling coving. The four elegant bedrooms are spread out over three floors for space, comfort and privacy.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious bedroom with king-size bed, a well-stocked kitchen teamed with rustic bench and seating, and also a shower room to the back of the house. Essentials such as cutlery, utensils, cookware and appliances are paired with indulgent little extras such as an espresso machine.

The stylish living area is on the first floor, with a log-burning stove to complement the central heating enjoyed throughout. A flatscreen Smart TV permits access to Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime (please bring your subscription details to log in to these services) as well as a DVD player and normal TV channels. Also on the first floor is the main family bathroom, and a double bedroom. Cole and Lewis bathroom toiletries are offered in the bath and shower rooms, together with fresh towels.

The twin bedroom is on the second floor and can be made up as super-king on request (please be aware there is a £15 charge for this service), along with another double bedroom.

High-specification WiFi is provided throughout for your convenience and connectivity to home.

Each house has its own private outdoor area, with seating, to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine at the end of the day.

The restaurants, wine bars, supermarkets and other diversions of Keswick are only a moment's walk away, and the quietude of the fells can be experienced in under an hour's walk or a few minutes drive.

Windows open onto views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the north and to Catbells, over the rooftops of Keswick, to the south.

Visitors to No.5 have the convenience of two complimentary parking permits to the adjacent long stay car park.

Please note the Townhouses are not available for hen or stag events.

Keswick offers plenty of activities and amenities for your stay. Whether you're looking for adventure activities, retail therapy, or new and exciting things to do, there's something to keep everyone entertained.

Need to stock up on groceries for your self-catering Keswick holiday? Booths and Co-Op are Keswick's two main supermarkets, with produce also available on the Keswick Markets.

If you're looking to venture out into the Lake District without a car, Keswick is serviced by the X4 and X5 bus services, running all the way from Workington to Penrith, linking Keswick to local train stations

An excellent week in Keswick
We really enjoyed our stay in the townhouse. The property was clean, comfortable and spacious. Great location a stones throw from Fitz Park and an easy walk into town. Kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms and living rooms were lovely. We had 6 people and there was plenty of room, only concern would be that is might have felt a bit cramped at full capacity (8 people).

Hello David! Thank you for taking the time to review 3 The Townhouses. We're delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable week in Keswick and found the property clean, comfortable and well equipped for your stay. It's wonderful to know that the location worked so well for your group, with Fitz Park and the town centre just a short stroll away, and that there was plenty of space for everyone to relax after a day exploring the Lake District. We also appreciate your comments regarding occupancy levels, and guest feedback means a great deal to both ourselves and the property owners as we continually review the experience offered to future visitors. On your next visit, we'd highly recommend a walk up Latrigg, one of Keswick's most popular viewpoints, where the stunning panoramic views over Derwentwater, the town and the surrounding fells are well worth the effort. Thank you again for your kind comments, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to 3 The Townhouses and the Lake District again soon. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages

3 The Townhouses
The bath towels were really small and struggled to hide your modesty, unlike in previous years. The handrails in the house were rather sticky and greasy and had to be cleaned on arrival. We paid £15 for the 2singles to be converted into a double but 2 single quilts were used inside a double cover which meant they often separated during the night.
Summer Holiday
We really enjoyed our summer stay here ss a family of four with a dog. Very central location. Clean and comfortable location. Parking permits are provided for the long stay car parks - the closest is basically across the street but it does make loading/unloading luggage tricky, particularly if you had mobility issues. Parking spaces are not reserved for the accommodation. Overall an excellent holiday!

Hi there! Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you and your family (including your dog!) had such an enjoyable summer stay. It’s great to know you found the property clean, comfortable, and in such a convenient central location for making the most of Keswick and the surrounding area. Thank you as well for your helpful comments regarding the parking. As you mention, parking permits are provided for the nearby long-stay car parks, with the closest being just across the road. While this is a convenient arrangement for most guests, we appreciate that loading and unloading can be a little more challenging, particularly for those with mobility concerns. We’re so pleased these were only minor observations and that you had an excellent holiday overall. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Keswick Cottages
