This grand home offers exceptional accommodation in five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Every room has been decorated and furnished with care and attention to detail to ensure guests have a comfortable stay. There is a charming blend of contemporary and traditional decor throughout. Expect eye-catching interesting interiors at every turn, including a fantastic collection of Lake District artwork to admire. There is a long and rich history of travellers to the Lake District staying at The Mount, which was recorded in the 1911 census as a guest house.
On the ground floor you will find the impressive entrance hallway with beautiful reclaimed flooring, well-equipped kitchen overlooking the pretty garden, separate utility area with washing machine and dryer, dining room with huge bespoke dining table, and the impressive living room with Smart TV and comfortable leather sofas. There is plenty of space to store coats, boots and walking gear.
Upstairs on the first floor there are three ensuite bedrooms; the first room has a king size bed with fabulous dual aspect views of Derwentater. The next bedroom also has a king size bed and views of Skiddaw. The third bedroom has twin beds (can be made up as Superking-size on request) again with views of Skiddaw. On the second floor there are two further ensuite bedrooms; a superking-size room to the front and a king size bed to the rear. All bedrooms have their own TV, hairdryer, quality mattresses, and will be made up with luxury bed linen and fluffy towels. Each of the modern ensuite bath/shower rooms include indulgent Award-winning toiletries from Pure Lakes.
You will be spoilt for choice on where to dine, the beautiful dining room, lounge window, or dine al fresco in the pretty garden. Enjoy the views or watch the birds – you might even see a hedgehog in the evening! Fancy dining out? The house is a stones throw from the welcoming Farmers Arms pub or the renowned Chalet tearoom. The Lingholm estate, Nichol End and Keswick town centre are also nearby.
The house makes an excellent base from which to explore the Lakes and tick some Wainwrights off your list. There is private allocated car parking behind the house, so no need to worry about where to park. Catbells is approximately a 30 minute walk from the front door. Catch the boat from Hawse End and have a trip around the lake to Keswick – a perfect day out, without the stress of parking!
