So, once again, we’re bravely eating our way around Keswick in the name of research.
It’s tough work, but someone has to do it.
This time, Megan and Josh headed out for a late lunch at Piri Fresco, and honestly? This might just be one of the most exciting additions to Keswick’s food scene in years.
Fresh, flavour‑packed, proudly independent, and laser‑focused on doing one thing brilliantly — nobody is doing it quite like Piri Fresco.
From the moment you walk through the door, it’s clear that the restaurant isn’t trying to be anything other than what it is: bold, honest food made fresh, using quality ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, with a menu built around flame‑grilled piri-piri chicken, burgers and wraps, all layered with big flavour and zero compromise.
If you’ve ever found yourself craving a Nando’s‑style fix, but want to support local businesses while you’re in the Lakes, Piri Fresco is absolutely the answer. It delivers that same hit of spice, char and indulgence, but with independent spirit, a love for local, and a Keswick soul.
To start, Megan and Josh shared hummus and bread, smooth, creamy and ideal for dipping, followed by halloumi, grilled to perfection and finished with chilli and honey. Simple, satisfying, and a great opener for what was to come.
For mains, the burgers took centre stage.
Josh went for the Hangry Burger, stacked with flame‑grilled chicken thigh, crispy halloumi, melted cheese and sauce — messy, indulgent, and unapologetically filling. Megan chose the Fresco Smash Burger, packed with juicy smashed beef patties, American cheese, caramelised onions, lettuce, and Piri Fresco’s signature sauce.
Both arrived fresh, hot and absolutely loaded with flavour.
And it’s not just what’s on the plate that makes Piri Fresco special. The restaurant is BYOB, which makes it perfect for an easy, relaxed lunch or dinner without breaking the bank; grab your favourite drink, settle in, and enjoy. It’s also dog‑friendly, which in Keswick feels less like a bonus and more like common sense — but still makes a huge difference.
The atmosphere is casual, friendly and welcoming, ideal whether you’re fresh off the fells, wandering the town, or just looking for something genuinely different.
There’s an energy here that feels long overdue, completing Keswick’s food circuit with something bold, modern and confidently its own.
For Megan and Josh, it was one of those meals where you don’t just enjoy it — you immediately start planning the next visit.
Fresh food. Big flavour. Independent spirit.
Exactly what Keswick needs.
