From here, you'll find the fitted kitchen with fridge, freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave oven, washing machine and tumble dryer. The solid wood, Pippy Oak units are of a high quality with granite worktops and a small breakfast bar with views to Barf and Whinlatter.

For those looking for a slower pace, Bassenthwaite Lake has plenty of opportunities to sail and fish, or take in the surrounding wildlife. The southern tip of Bassenthwaite has been transformed into a wildlife sanctuary, so keep an eye out for the local fauna! During the season, the famous Bassenthwaite Ospreys can often be seen flying overhead.
If you’re looking to venture out into the Lake District without a car, Thornthwaite is serviced by the X4 and X5 bus services, running all the way from Workington to Penrith, linking Thornthwaite to local train stations.
