Appletree is in the quiet Lakeside village of Portinscale (just outside Keswick) and has some fabulous views of the surrounding fells with local access to lakeshore and marinas.
On the ground floor there is a large open plan lounge, dining/kitchen area with patio doors out onto a paved patio area and enclosed garden. The lounge has two, three seater settees, an easy chair, TV, DVD, CD player and an open fire (ideal for a cosy night in). The kitchen is well fitted and has fridge, freezer, double fan oven and gas hob, dishwasher, microwave etc. Off the kitchen there is a small pantry for food storage.
On the ground floor there is a large bedroom with Smart TV and zip/link beds which as standard is made up as a super king size bed but can be made up as two single beds (there is a £15 charge for this). Also on this floor there is a fully tiled shower room with large drench shower,WC and wash basin.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, is nicely furnished and has lovely views towards the fells. Off this room is a fully tiled en-suite shower room with drench shower, WC and wash hand basin (with underfloor heating to the tiled floor during the winter months). The twin room is spacious and has Smart TV, two single beds wardrobe, drawers, dressing table etc. and again has fabulous views towards the fells. The fourth bedroom has a double bed and looks out towards Skiddaw. This room is offered at £50 for a short break and £75 for a full week. All bedrooms are beautifully dressed with luxury linen and towels.
The fully tiled bathroom has a bath ( which can be turned into a Jacuzzi Bath at an additional charge if requested) separate curved shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.
The house also benefits from a fantastic multi-purpose garage/utility space, with plenty of room to securely store bikes, kayaks etc. as well as hanging space for walking gear, a washer/dryer, and there's even a hot or cold dog wash so your canine companion can get squeaky clean before heading inside to get comfortable after a day out exploring!
To the outside there is an enclosed garden and patio with table, chairs & parasol. Please be aware this property is not suitable for hot tub hire.
There will be no need to worry about parking as the property has a large private driveway.

Spent a lovely week at Appletree to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Excellent accommodation with lots of well thought out extras. Comfortable throughout apart from the beds which were like sleeping on concrete. Please note that this property is situated on a very quiet housing estate and not all the neighbours appear welcoming of visitors. Very little going on in Portinscale, no shop and the only pub never seemed open. Keswick is within easy reach and has plenty of amenities though. The Chalet in Portinscale is worth a visit for lovely food and drinks. Superb views front and back from the property. Really enjoyed our stay
As always Appletree never fails to deliver everything you need from a holiday home. Will be back again to enjoy the house, nearby cafe and pub. Also so many great walks from the house. Recent improvements to the house and parking have benefitted what is on offer. Five star accommodation.
We had a most wonderful holiday at Appletree . The house was very clean and smelt lovely and fresh Appletree is very well equipped throughout, the beds are very comfortable and showers very good. I particularly liked that there was a large fridge freezer and also an additional fridge as well plus the excellent laundry facilities in the garage. The house is situated in a quiet and peaceful area of Portinscale and very conveniently situated for walks from the door and a short distance from the footpath into Keswick. We would most definitely book Appletree again. Thankyou to the owners and Keswick Cottages for such a marvellous holiday !
