The Chalet and Tearooms

An exterior view of THE CHALET TEAROOMS AND RESTAURANT, Portinscale.

The Chalet is situated in Portinscale, a stone’s throw away from the shores of Derwentwater and the Marina.

Enjoy a hearty Cumbrian breakfast or a tasty lunch with classic and artisan fair (we really recommend the homemade pizzas!) with a cold glass of wine or beer from the fully licensed bar. They also supply delicious afternoon teas, handmade tray bakes and cakes.

Walkers, dogs and cyclists are all welcome at the Chalet with indoor and outdoor seating available. Stop off for a well-earned break and enjoy a hot chocolate with rum and whipped cream after a long walk around Derwentwater or a hike over Catbells.

Menu highlights include classic favourites such as the ‘full Cumbrian breakfast’, chalet rarebit, hot ciabattas and jacket potatoes, with a few unique offerings to make for a unique meal out! Our favourites include the chalet grostl, salad bowls and pancake stacks.
