Rheged is a gallery, café, cinema, shopping venue, workplace and creative space on the edge of the Northern Lakes.
A place where friends and family can share a meal, watch a film, see an exhibition, buy a gift or enjoy some good coffee. It’s a place where stories are told, ideas are sparked and the Cumbrian landscape is a constant source of inspiration.
Firstly, their modern, independent gallery hosts a dynamic programme of events– keep an eye out for what’s on during your stay! We’ve seen everything from historical events to Minecraft and LEGO.
Their independent cinema has a 60-foot screen and digital sound, showing new releases, family favourites and live-streaming events.
Who doesn’t love a cheeky souvenir? Find clothing, home and lifestyle products that stand out for their beauty and quality. Curated with Cumbria in mind but inspired by craft, design and talent from far and wide. We think that beats a fridge magnet!
To unwind, park yourself in the 100-seat ground-floor café. Though it’s mighty, it maintains a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Their menus are inclusive and flexible. Seasonal, homemade, and locally-sourced.
