Every Saturday at 9.00am!
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event.
Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate– it’s all up to you!
Keswick Park Run is a very popular event, and the atmosphere is contagious! Its open to all, from those who are regular park-runners to those who have just started. A total Strava favourite!
An out-and-back course on Keswick Railway Path is around 5000m long (5K). It begins from the bollards just after the old railway station, continuing on to the turn-around at the iron bridge. The whole course is tarmac, quite flat for Keswick(!) and has great views of the river and the surrounding fells all the way, making this a brilliant way to get your steps up, blood pumping, and take in the stunning sights of the Lake District.
Road running shoes are best suited. Please be mindful that the pathway can get muddy and slippery on wet days (something the Lake District has quite often…) so take your time on these sections. There are however, plenty of marshals around if you need any assistance!
The Keswick Park Run has a relaxed atmosphere, and while some run to win, most participants simply like to start their Saturdays with a good stretch of the legs, locals and Lake District visitors alike. The event is inclusive of all ages and abilities, and is a great way to meet locals and make friends.
If you are looking for something with a little more edge, or to really challenge yourself, why not look into the Lakesman Triathlon or Lakeland Trails?
