The Pocket

Kerry Regan, the owner of the Pocket Cafe Bar in Keswick, sitting on top of the bar.

The Pocket has everything.

And we mean everything.

Homemade pizza, real ales and local craft beer…

Coffee, cake, and quiz nights…

They even have their own swim/run challenge: the Pocket Round.

Eat

The Round specialise in homemade pizzas, made with freshly-rolled dough and made-in-house sauce.

Choose from classic margherita, familiar favourites, or their quirky creations, including a ‘Goats Cheese, Red Onion Chutney, Artichoke & Rocket’ pizza, and ‘Smoked Chicken, Blue Cheese & Rocket’. You don’t get that at Dominoes!

Don’t fancy pizza? Also on the menu are hummus bowls and paninis, as well as a selection of sides.

You can view the Pocket’s full food menu here.

Drink

The Pocket serve a selection of local and European beers, ales, and ciders.

With regular and guest offerings, we won’t spoil the surprise… but you can follow the Pocket on Instagram or Facebook to keep up with any exciting updates and events.

Sing

Join the team for live music and events every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! See familiar faces, or pop into an open mic night to discover new local talent- you can even join in yourself! The atmosphere is incredibly supportive, and they welcome a range of styles and genres to take part.

The Pocket is staffed by some of the loveliest people in Keswick (besides us at Keswick Cottages, of course) and a lot of the staff get up to musical mischief outside of work! Check out birdseed and Bruin Valentine on socials!

Swim (or Run)

The Pocket Round is a swim-run challenge (depending on route choice) starting and finishing at The Pocket, Keswick.

Walk or run, there is no time or age constraint.

  • Head through the underpass to the shores of Derwentwater and take the trails (or road) towards Calf Close Bay.
  • Enter the lake and swim to Rampsholme Island.
  • Exit the water and traverse the island on foot and then swim to St. Herbert’s Island.
  • Again, traverse the island on foot before swimming to the tiny Otterbield Island.
  • Stand on Otterbield Island.
  • Head to the west lake shore to finish the swim.
  • From there take the trails and road once more to return to Keswick and to the front door of The Pocket!

Please note that the round must only be completed in a clockwise direction.
