Your Ultimate Guide to Parking in Keswick

So, you’re visiting Keswick…

Great choice!

Keswick is an incredible town, full of inspiring history and natural scenery, home to some of the UK’s best attractions and rich in culture, with people across the world owing their best memories to our town: proposals, first dates, first family holidays… we’ve even known people name their children after it!

But the parking is a nightmare.

Fear not, at Keswick Cottages, we’re experts in navigating the parking scene, and have compiled a handy guide including everything you need to know about parking in Keswick.

Long-Stay Car Parks

Long-stay car parks are ideal for guests staying in Keswick for extended periods of time, or longer than a day or two. For extra security, we recommend parking in a long-stay car park rather than in unrestricted, residential areas.

These are Keswick’s long-stay car parks, and links to purchase permits:

Lakeside Car Park, Lake Road/Hope Park — details and payments.

Otley Road Car Park, Near the Fox Tap — details and payments.

Can I park in the residential areas?

Technically, yes.

However, real people do live in Keswick! We work in the shops, we manage accommodation, and we run the town you love.

When parking in ‘the back streets’, residential areas such as Blencathra Street, Southey Street, or the streets off Penrith Road, please be mindful of the residents living in the homes. Park mindfully, park legally, and imagine how you’d feel if someone parked their car outside of your house for a week.

Parking wardens regularly patrol the back streets. Don’t take any chances!

Don’t want to worry about parking at all?
