We have been a client of Keswick Cottages for over three years now and I find them to be a helpful, hands-on family agency. When we first approached Keswick Cottages for them to manage Lake View Cottage it had never been rented out before. Keswick Cottages have built up our clientele over the three year period whereby several of our customers are now repeat visitors. The agency is always giving helpful advice on how to improve the rental experience to our clients as well as efficiently and effectively managing our cottage. Our property is always cleaned to a very high standard especially as we allow owners to bring their dog as well. Ahead of buying Crandy Nook in 2007, we did some financial research enlisting the help of local agents. Keswick Cottages, being a smaller, family-run business were more personable and accommodating with their time, providing us with a greater insight into potential income, costs, available local support and how the maisonette might be furnished. As well as helping us source furnishings, they even helped us move some of the furniture in.
The set-up is very simple; the contract is a one-pager. The agent visited our property to assess the accommodation, what would be needed to achieve VisitEngland 4* status and how best it could be marketed; what was very clear, both have very high standards and they know their stuff. They priced the accommodation for short (3/4 days) and long (week) breaks and uploaded an advert with quality images onto their website in quick time.
Bookings are advised immediately so you can keep your diary up to date. Payments for bookings are paid monthly supported by detailed statements, which also include brief details of future bookings.
Keswick Cottages and 2Clean are a close-knit team; we have always been able to seek help and support at relatively short notice, most reassuring when you live 90 miles away. 2Clean are a great resource. They have been in touch promptly if they’ve identified any issues post-guests; this allows you to manage your security deposits. We’ve also had good consistent feedback where guests have commented on their stay – this is in part due to their cleaning supervisory checks ahead of guests’ arrivals.

We have been with Keswick Cottages since buying our holiday let in Keswick 4 years ago. The initial process when we started to let the house was straightforward and support has been friendly and professional ever since.
We are kept up to date with bookings and a useful monthly report of future bookings is supplied.

We have let our cottage through Keswick Cottages since we bought it in 2007. We have received consistently good service from the agency, from initial advice on how to manage the property, with recommendations on what to provide for guests, to support throughout our ownership. It is good to know the business is a local one and with a small staff I always know who is on the end of the phone when I call. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. We stay in the cottage usually about 6 times a year and are able to book ourselves in directly and easily. We love staying there and it is always clean and fresh when we arrive.
The cleaning service has always been good but is now excellent and we have recently started using the linen service which means we don’t have to worry about keeping up the standards of linen. It is always reassuring to know that they are keeping an eye on the property and will let us know if there are any problems. The cottage books well and this is an incentive for us to make improvements to keep our guests happy.
