Showing properties from Thornthwaite
Lake View is situated in the attractive village of Thornthwaite as part of the former Swan Coaching Inn dating back to the mid seventeenth century. The cottage itself has glorious views over Lake Bassenthwaite and the Derwent Valley overlooked by the mighty Skiddaw one of the loftiest peaks in the National Park. The Whinlatter forest park popular for walking, outdoor activities and cycling, is also right next door and there are many walks to be enjoyed in the surrounding area together with a chance to see Ospreys which nest nearby. The village of Braithwaite is a mile down the road with 2 pubs and Keswick is just 2 miles away offering evening theatre, cinema and town shopping including the well renowned Booths Supermarket. There are also well known restaurants nearby which include The Pheasant Inn and Middle Ruddings pub.

5* Gold awarded apartment enjoying a quiet, unspoilt rural location the Swan Hotel, a former 17th century coaching inn has been sympathetically converted into several quality apartments. On the edge of the village of Thornthwaite, within five minutes walking distance of Bassenthwaite Lake and surrounded by delightful scenery it is the ideal location for a relaxing break.
Having had parents and family living in Keswick and have now moved away we have to rent a property if we want a holiday. Lords Seat can be described in one word SUPERB. Although it was top of the range it was worth every penny. Well equipped beautifully furnished and decorated and the bath , a real way to relax after a long walk.!! Treat yourselves it is good value for money. The drive into Keswick is not far , the local pubs serve good food and you have some fantastic walks on your door step. The hotels in Keswick which might give you this quality accommodation will cost you a lot more. Just wish I could bring my dog , but when you see the quality of the flat you know why they do not take dogs. Many thanks we will be back. P.S What Keswick cottages say and print is very true. Very efficient firm and very friendly would use them again.Christine Barker
