The Ridgeway is a beautiful Victorian property, with many personal touches to create a ’home from home’ feel and ideal for those wishing to be close to all local amenities but just out of the way of traffic and crowds. The fully enclosed south facing patio has wonderful views to the fells for perfect al fresco dining. Private parking is allocated opposite for one car. The large, bright lounge with high ceilings on the first floor has a fabulous bay window looking out over Keswick to Catbells and the fells beyond. There are two large sofas and an open fire for cosy winter nights, with dining table in the picture postcard bay window. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD and games console with blue-tooth DAB Radio / CD player and plenty of Lakeland guides. The twin bedroom with new oak furniture (chest of drawers and wardrobe) and DAB radio is also on the first floor with lovely views towards Latrigg. This room can be converted to a King-size bed upon request. The newly refurbished first floor bathroom is fully tiled and has a double ended bath, separate shower cubicle, towel rail and wash hand basin.  There is a separate WC on this floor.  On the ground floor there is a bright double bedroom with a bay window overlooking the patio/garden. There is a double bed, with plenty of storage, a flat screen TV/DVD, hairdryer and lovely high ceilings. The very modern kitchen is also on the ground floor with newly fitted units, granite worktops, built in electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and breakfast bar, with well stocked cupboards with everything you would need on a self-catering holiday. There is a sizeable utility room at the back of the apartment for walking gear and bikes, providing rear access to the street. The downstairs shower room has a shower, WC and wash hand basin. Please note that a bath sheet, two bath towels and a hand towel are now provided for each bedroom. Reduced Occupancy is available at The Ridgeway from October to March. We are able to offer this service by locking off un-used rooms saving on cleaning and energy costs.  Prices are reduced to reflect the number of bedrooms/bathroom used. Standard 1 bedroom booking (double bedroom & main bathroom). If this room configuration is not what your require, please contact the office either by phone or email with your room choices.

Everything about the place was perfect. Beautiful kitchen, baths, and bedrooms, excellent location with 2 grocery stores and a pharmacy as well as great food within 5-10 minutes' walk, easy access to Derwent Water lake, and the town of Keswick itself is everything we hoped it would be. If there's one thing Brits know how to do, it's to make people feel comfortable and happy! Can't wait to go back.

Our second visit, and we were just as impressed as on the first occasion. Thoroughly recommended.
John from Cambridge 13th September 2019
The Ridgeway is ideally located in a quiet poistion just off Keswick Main Street. The standard of the accomodation is excellent. The views are spectacular due to the layout - the living room is on the first floor to maximise the scenery. We will certainly revisit. We have been to Keswick on many occasions but this has been certainly the most stressless booking to date. This is due to the attention and advice from Keswick Cottages and Rebecca in particular. Highly recommended.
David from Wirral 29th April 2019
Home from Home. Great Location.
M. Triffitt from Harrogate 12th April 2019
Very clean house. Look forward to staying again.
Mrs Coleman from North Lanarkshire 18th March 2019
Excellent accommodation, Could not fault it. Great location.
Mr M Stewart from N.Tyneside 8th March 2019
This house is literally two minutes from Keswick centre - the high street, Co-op, Booths, cafes for breakfast, restaurants and pubs. The lounge being upstairs and kitchen down seemed a bit strange to start with but the lounge view of the fells from the table when eating/reading is just superb. A very clean house with a fully kitted out kitchen for people who like to cook. I would not hesitate to stay here again
Andy from Leeds 10th August 2018
The three of us from the US loved this place and the reasonable cost. The single took the upstairs bedroom that adjoins the lovely living/sitting room, and we took the downstairs bedroom that adjoins the kitchen. The view from the living room is awesome, we breakfasted at the dining table with its spectacular view each day (we were there 3 nights/4 days). The living room is equipped with enough - books, TV, etc - to keep anyone busy on a rainy day but we were blessed with good weather. One of us was ill for a day with a bad cold while the other two went sightseeing. The sick one reported having a very comfortable day, sleeping and recovering, enjoying the books provided in the living room. Great kitchen with all we needed to prepare and store food, make morning tea, etc. Both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms had their own toilet/shower facilities each accessed down a hall but both were out of view of the other, so completely private. Loved having our own parking spot right in front of the property. The flat over ours had vacationers too but we heard nothing from them. The only sound we experienced was morning piano practice from next door in this split house. It was charming. We enjoyed the short walking distance, just down a short hill, to Keswick town center for the Saturday Market and numerous restaurants and shops. We dined at The Bank Tavern twice, was great both times. I wish the US had pubs like this one. In summary, we three loved our experience here.
David from US 11th May 2018
Excellent accommodation, well furnished and looked after. Has all the essentials you will need whilst you are on holiday. Perfect location for Keswick as well with the town literally on your doorstep and Derwent Water just a short walk away. Would definitely go back.
Henley from Maidenhead 11th August 2017

Mick from Leicester 21st July 2017
Again a fabulous week! We love coming here. Accommodation is first class. No complaints. A lot of thought has clearly gone into making this a home from home - thankyou! Views are amazing!
Whitaker Family from Co.Durham 17th February 2017
We love The Ridgeway, it is a cosy but spacious flat with everything you need. The location is perfect, central but quiet. We'll be back!
Hayton Family from Lincoln 24th February 2017
An ideal property in Central Keswick. We were able to walk to all the Keswick restaurants and down to the Lake without have no to worry about Parking. The property was clean and well maintained and the Children appreciated the quality of the Wifi. Lovely views over the town and the surrounding hills. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything that was needed. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wanted to stay in Keswick.
Price from Surrey 26th August 2016

Alexander from Staffordshire 22nd June 2015
By far one of the best apartments we have stayed in and certainly the best views we have ever had of the Lake District. It was immaculately clean, tidy and had everything you could possibly want for a comfortable weekend away. Our thanks to yourselves and the owners who have refurbished Ridgeway to a high standard since taking ownership last year.
Jeanette Craik from Northumberland 1st May 2015

It is also clean , warm and very homely. New kitchen, bathroom. Would love to come back again sometime, defo recommend to family and friends. Loads of walks for all abilities and some good pubs. Love the Dog and Gun as it's very dog friendly. Well og to the pub for lunch as it's to wet to walk lol x

‘We have recently bought The Ridgeway as we spend a lot of time in The Lakes and we fell in love with the views, spacious rooms and quiet central location. Having worked with local tradesmen on renovating and refurbishing the apartment, we hope you enjoy the place as much as we do and make the most of walks from the door and frequent some of our favourite local pubs and restaurants.
Julia & Simon from North Yorkshire 4th April 2014
