Fully refurbished and styled to a beautiful high standard, this comfy house boasts spacious living, stunning fell views and small enclosed walled yard to the rear. Lone Tree Cottage is a fantastic two/three bedroom cottage sleeping 4 or 5, that offers the ideal place to relax with family and friends, situated in a stunning village location, however, still close enough to be walkable to the town centre and Keswick Market Square. We believe Portinscale is the best of both worlds! The cottage is just down the road from the village pub - The Farmers Arms - with plenty of walks from the door, with the River Derwent and Derwentwater five minutes away. From the outside, the cottage may look like a traditional semi, however, step inside and you’ll instantly be taken by the luxury makeover that we have created. Here old and new blend effortlessly to create a welcoming cosy cottage that you’ll instantly feel at home in. The cottage is located in a residential area of the village on a small street called How Lane (turn left immediately before the pub as you enter the village by car). It’s at the bottom of a hill, with lovely aspects to both sides of the house. There is plenty of space to park your vehicles and there is an enclosed yard/garden area with outside seating to the rear of the property, and additional outdoor seating at the front. This means you can always sit and admire the views and catch the sun, whatever time of day you are around. The cottage has fantastic views of the Skiddaw range to the front, and Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike to the rear. Don’t fear if you have outdoor equipment, or a big buggy, we have secure storage in the outside courtyard, where you can keep your things safe during your stay. Upstairs the cottage has a king bedroom, twin or super king bedroom and a third small single bedroom (ideally suited to a child although will comfortably sleep an adult as is a standard single size bed), all sharing a family bathroom, with shower over the bath. Luxury bathroom toiletries are offered in the bathroom, together with fresh towels. All bedrooms commanding fine views over the Lake District fells. Downstairs, you can find a large open plan lounge with comfortable sofas, feature electric fire, flat screen TV and DVD to one side, and a dining area to the other, with doors that open onto a petite conservatory to the rear of the cottage and the kitchen to the side. The kitchen has everything you’d expect - a fridge, freezer, oven, four burner gas hob, dishwasher and microwave. There is gas central heating throughout the cottage for the chillier months. Essentials, such as cookwear and appliances, are paired with indulgent extras, such as a new espresso machine and a selection of espresso pods. The apartment is well stocked to make your Lake District stay a pleasure. The River Derwent, the shores of Derwentwater, The Chalet Tearooms and two local marinas are only a short walk away through Portinscale, and ten minutes further, you can reach the wonderful Lingholm Estate. In the opposite direction over the bouncey Portinscale suspension bridge, Keswick Market Square is approximately 1 mile away from the cottage so 15 minutes by foot or a five-minute drive. We prefer the gentle walk through the field known as the Howrahs.

We are 'honoured' to be the first to stay in Lone Tree Cottage. We have had a wonderful stay in this delightful abode. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the tastfully kitted out interior all over the house. Beautiful bedrooms also. We had great times here, and only wish we could have stayed longer! Many thanks indeed. The Lauder Family from Cheshire 21st July 2019
