A lovely week in such a warm, cosy, comfortable cottage. So many thoughtful and personal touches to make it a real home from home. We loved the outside space to sit and enjoy the sun. A perfect location and very peaceful.

A lovely, cosy pet friendly cottage with everything you need and more. Just the perfect place to spend Christmas! Ideal location so close to Keswick and so many walks on the doorstep. Had an amazing week. Thanks also to the owners for the card and chocs....thoughtful touch! Would definitely recommend along with Keswick Cottages :-)
Carolyn from Grimsby 30th December 2018
A fantastic, well equipped, comfy cottage in a perfect location. So close to Keswick but quiet, with everything you need.
Catherine from Leeds 26th May 2018
Just a few minutes walk into the centre of town and close to Fitz park . Lovely cottage and has e everything you need. Dogs are welcome and the outside at the front is enclosed. The back allows space for one car which is great and ours didn't move at all while we there. Everything was perfect here and we would definitely recommend.
Joanna from Warrington 4th November 2017
Great location. Near a good park with a river, fields and a good playpark. A reasonable walk from the lakeside (went most days with children aged 7, 5 and 6 months). Lots of facilities in kitchen (including blender, lots of utensils). Home is nicely decorated and very bright and pleasant.
David M from Edinburgh 22nd July 2017
Central location to park, town centre and swimming pool. Never used the car.. plenty of walks nearby. Cosy and everything you need.
K Orr from Paisley 1st July 2017
Well equipped, clean and comfortable cottage in convenient location. We enjoyed our stay and didn't need to use our car all week. Walks, lake, shops and theatre all walking distance from the cottage. Small supermarket nearby and Booths in Centre of Keswick made food shopping easy. Would recommend this cottage to others planning a stay in Keswick.
Fran & Danny Attar from London 9th July 2016
Birchgate is a lovely cottage well presented and well equipped. It was very convenient for the town centre of Keswick and ticked all of the boxes. Would definitely recommend to others and would return.
Donna, Trevor and Leo the Labrador from Oldbury 2nd July 2016
Another well appointed cottage conveniently situated in the centre of town.
Sutton from Suffolk 22nd February 2016
We had a lovely stay in birchgate last year and would have booked again if it wasn't for the need for a third bedroom due to children getting older. Id highly recommend this cottage as iv rented many cottages in this size and price bracket and Birchgate was amongst the best my family and I have visited. We felt like welcome guests from the moment we walked in .
Wools Family from Barnsley 20th March 2015
We visit the lakes every year for a short break and this has to be one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The cottage was lovely with lots of personal touches. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was the first time we had stayed in Keswick and will definately be back. A great base and the town has everything you would need. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants and the bonus was we had fabulous weather. Also, I must mention the staff at Keswick cottages. Very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Probably the best self catering company we have dealt with. Many thanks.
Brenda and Sam from Harrogate 5th October 2015
Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Loved the cottage, clean and beautifully presented. Keswick is our second home and Birchgate certainly was. A beautiful place in a beautiful place. Book now!!!!!!! But not the weeks we want.
Dixon Family from Preston 26th July 2014
Have just returned from a fabulous week in a fabulous cottage! Have stayed here before a few years ago and was extremely impressed with the lovely improvements the new owners have made - it is a real home from home. Ideal location and would definitely recommend ! We have already booked for next year.
Deb & Mark Riley from Chester 1st October 2014
Lovely cottage, easy walk to town, spacious and well equipped kitchen /diner and very comfy master bedroom. Just a little traffic noise and bright street light outside. Parking space in lieu of front garden most welcome. Lots of info about walks and maps. I can recommend the cinema and theatre both only 10-15 mins walk away. I think you will love staying here - I know I did.
Suzy Robey from Nottingham 8th November 2014
Birchgate is a lovely cosy cottage, equipped with everything you need and a nice enclosed garden. I would recommend ordering a wood supply for the lovely open fire. We will be returning.
McMillan from Cheshire 26th April 2014
I have just returned from a 5-night stay in Birchgate. It is a lovely cottage, very well equipped & cosy. The location is excellent with off-street parking at the back & a gravelled garden at the front. I took my dogs so the front garden was great, with no worries they would escape. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. I will definitely recommend it & will be visiting again very soon.
Rebecca Evans from Birchgate 10th March 2014
What a beautiful cottage! We really didn't want to go home . Lovely and comfortable and in keeping with a really nice traditional cottage feel. Had a few nights sitting by the chiminea in the garden too. Lovely walks right on door step and loads to do in this lovely part of the Lake District .
Hughes family from Leeds 5th August 2013
Beautiful cottage, very clean and comfy. Very close to town and lake. Didn't want to leave.
Wendy Green from suffolk 6th July 2013
We have recently bought this lovely cottage and found that it has everything to offer for a lovely stay in beautiful keswick! A cosy feel awaits you with lovely cottage style bedrooms, a real fire and gardens front and back. Perfectly located opposite fitz park - what more could you want!!
Envis family from Liverpool 4th June 2013
We love the Lakes-Keswick in particular and have had a superb time in this very comfortable cottage. Our first time here- it won’t be the last!
Meredith Party from Teeside 7th January 2012
A fantastic week in Keswick – our 6th and possibly the best. Not a single day of rain! (Well not while we were out anyway.) Must recommend The Bridge at Buttermere- home cooked pub food all day so is a fantastic finish for an afternoon walking/climbing the stunning surroundings. Also fab old school veggie grub (inc mega breakfasts) at the Lakeland pedlar.
Cassidy Family from Bath 22nd October 2011
Our second visit to Birchgate-(last one in April) and we’ve had a super stay. Actually managed to get some walking in and went to the top of Latrigg. Eaten and drank loads and had fun doing old fashioned family stuff- reckon we’ve spent enough on crazy golf and pitch and put to keep the park going for another year! Planning next trip back to lakes already.
Preston Party from Cheltenham 13th August 2011
An excellent cottage, comfortable and homely. Pleasantly surprised with the kitchen and overall cleanliness of the cottage. Would definitely recommend.
